Short-haul trip for 6 plus baby?

My family and I are hoping to get away for Christmas, either in Europe or UK, following the death of our mother.

Has anyone got any good ideas?

So far, we've got a trip to Rome for about £1800 for us all but they haven't got a cot for the baby!

Regarding the Rome trip, could you not take a travel cot?

Fimbo - we could but ours is enormous and the hotel rooms look very small. My dad's arranging it all soit's a bit hard to have a say. I'd love CP but pops wouldn't.
