Who does the best hampers?

I'm trying to find my nan a really decent hamper for Christmas. The Selfridges ones are gorgeous, but I really don't think my nan would get Anya Hindmarch , the Fortnums one's are OK but nowt special, same for Harvey Nicks.

She's had a really rough year (large bowel tumour removed and 6 months of chemo), so I really want to get her something special rather than an M&S/ John Lewis one. Liekwise she'll be spending Christmas with us, so a hamper with loads of festive themed food wouldn't be any good.

Any ideas please?

i'd do my own, but i'm quessing that's not the answer you want thing is, with a bought one, they'll always be things in there that you do think she'll like so if you did your own you could make it exactly as you like. Unless of couse she is like my step-mother who'd love anything poncey!

I'm sure this has been a very unhelpful post but I shall post it anyway!

harrods, they are £££ but probably no different to prices of the other places you mention

I'd also do your own hamper, they put alsorts of random stuff in hampers you'd never in a million years eat. We get given them from DH's work Harrods I think and 80% of it is yuk.

I have toyed with the idea of doing one myself. I'm not sure that it's necessarily ponciness that's a driver for my nan, more the 'I would like to say that once in my life I had a F&M hamper' factor

I'll have a think about the DIY option .
