Ideas for christmas hotel accom with wheelchair access?

MIL had a stroke about 7 weeks ago and will be discharged from hospital just before Christmas. We're trying to make plans now for something jolly to do - she won't be able to come to us as is likely to still need a wheelchair and for various reasons we can't do it at hers. We think it might be nice to go somewhere for a few nights, ideally somewhere as child friendly as possible. We've tried Centreparcs but obviously we're very late and all their wheelchair access stuff is fully booked. Be great to hear of any other ideas...

TIA

Most Holiday Inn hotels around the country have about 5% of their room stock adapted to cater for all physically challenged, they should be suitable. Lots have indoor pools.

Do you want to be away actually over christmas?

Most hotels now have adapted bedrooms and easy access for wheelcahir users and most hotels will be geared towards families over the festive period. You will need ££££££ though!

yeah, i had a big surf last night and we're talking thousands of pounds - and the "geared towards families" stuff looks a bit ott - not sure what to do, now looking at cottages to rent. if a hotel, think be nice to find somewhere independent rather than a chain, just somewhere that feels a bit special, rather than somewhere we've ended up because it's what works on a practical level, if you know what i mean. it's been a tough end of year already and so it feels quite important to make it really nice if we can...

This website 'Unique Places to Stay that are open for Christmas' really impressed me with the types of places that it had on offer. Have a good browse!
