Hi

Last year I got ds(7) & dd(4) a lego advent calendar each. DS adored his, DD not so bothered just liked opening the door etc. This year there is only the Lego City advent calendar available (Lego Castle one is out of stock and they won't be getting anymore. So that is DS sorted, what can I get for DD.

I do have a string of 24 small Christmas stockings that I put stickle bricks into one year when DD was smaller so I can reuse that.

Does anyone know of a website that sells 24 small toys that can be used for something like this. I do NOT want to put chocolate or sweets in - they have masses left from halloween etc.

PS
My budget is about 50p a toy, as that works out the same as the Lego advent calendar for DS.

Hawkins Bazaar is always a good bet

Could you find a toy that has 24 "bits" that you could separate out? Or a couple of toys to do the same? Like a jigsaw maybe, or "bits" for a doll. DD1's things always seem to have lots and lots of "bits"!

You don't need to get things that fit in the stockings. I leave mine clues where to find things on the advent calendar. That means I am free to hide things which would never otherwise fit (all under £1) and the kids love the clues.

I have put barbie clothes and accessories in my DD.
What about some lego bricks from a packet.

This site Tickseed was linked to on MN the other day -they seem to have lots of little party bag/stocking stuff.

hawkins bazaar is great for little things- i was in my local one last week, they have little teeny paint sets, mini slinkies, magic towels, christmas mini pop up cones, magnetic rocks, various tiny wind up toys, all for under £2, some of them are in multi packs. am looking now, they have 2 packs of magnetic frogs/ladybirds for 50p- that two sets for one pound, stretchy smiley man for 25p, mini playing cards for 50p, mini tic-tac-toe for 50p. there are loads there.

NorbertDentressangle: That Tickseed site looks fantastic, lots of different stuff in my price range.

Hawkins Bazaar I found the items either too big or too expensive, as there was very little below 50p.

Unfortunately we have already done a playmobil calendar and because it is reusable the toys have to stay on display and not get lost!!

Thanks
