I thought I'd have calenders with photos of the kids done for Grandparents. Any idea where to get these done nicely n reasonably? I usually make decorations with my now 6 yr old too and send them off. This year with our new baby I will have little time, anyone got any ideas for easy christmas crafts that will be easy to post?

Moo.com do this...

Photobox?

I'm doing a photo calendar for my grandparents. I'm getting it from Photobox for £15.99. I just need to find some photos of my db and his gf before i order it.

I think Snapfish do it too.

I ended up using bonusprint rather than photobox last year because you could get a calendar with boxes you could write on rather than one that looked pretty. They were really good. And the grandparents LOVED them (there were tears )

I prefer jessops for pic quality to bonus print. baker ross have loads of cheap fab stuff too.

These are the Photobox ones

BONKERZ · 08/11/2008 20:00

try vistaprint, i just got a photo calendar done for free just paid P&P.

Phoenix · 08/11/2008 20:02

My friend got a photo book from Bonusprint and it is utter crap.

spicemonster · 08/11/2008 21:20

I guess it's pretty variable - I was really disappointed by the posters I had done at photobox which came back really dark so I'd be wary of using them again

Phoenix · 08/11/2008 21:24

Oh bugger don't tell me that lol. I might have a look at Jessops/Snapfish then.

Chrysanthamum · 09/11/2008 08:23

Thanks for the tips, I also found out that Klick photopoint do them for 14.99 A3, 12.99 A4, 9.99 desktop and Asda have them from 11.97 although they look a bit cheap me thinks. I'll definitely look into Vistaprint though-sounds good. I was also thinking of getting a digital photo frame as well that works with a memory stick. Anyone know where the bargains for these are?

I used snapfish for ours, had discount code so paid under £10 (can't remember exact amt) for each one. If you sign up with them you get emailed discount codes for various products quite often. We were happy with the quality too

I am buying blank calanders and putting photos in myself. You get blank ones for a tenner in Tesco and you dont need to worry about dodgy prints coming back.

AbbaFan · 09/11/2008 08:50

50% off these at Snapfish until 16/11/08

use: GIFTSFORHER

Nemowith3and1tobe · 09/11/2008 08:50

agee try vistaprint we used them last year and got 3 calenders fo about £12

My DH did one for me last year through www.penwizard.co.uk It looks really good and you can add all birthdays in so they come out ready printed on and there are spaces to write on the calenday too, not sure how much it was. I was amazed at the effort he had gone to putting all the pics on and making sure he got all the birthdays in the right dates!!

theSuburbanDryad · 09/11/2008 09:36

Snapfish are a pile of shite - I just spent an hour choosing photos and then when I went to upload them it refused and then said there were no photos to upload.

Wank.

Phoenix · 09/11/2008 09:52

Looked at Vistaprint it looks ok and much cheaper than Photobox so think i'm going to use them

theSuburbanDryad · 09/11/2008 10:08

I just did one direct from iPhoto, much cheaper and easier than anything else I've tried so far!

Just a different tack for anyone who has grandparents that don't see the children very often.

Last year we got blank calendars for both sets of grandparents and just put in a picture for January. They were wrapped up with instructions that they were to pester us at the end of each month until we remembered to send them a new picture of their grandchildren. It has been such a huge success. They have loved having a decent, up to date picture every month and it has helped us remember to get the camera out a bit more often. Now of course I need to find some more blank calendars for this year!
