Looking for ideas for Christmas presents for my DDs. Mine haven't a clue what they want. They are not into High School Musical. They do enjoy drawing and books. Any suggestions?

ramonaquimby · 08/11/2008 18:12

my 7 year old only wants makeup so am stuck here too. 4 year old getting playmobil campervan after recommendations on here!

ChasingSquirrels · 08/11/2008 18:13

oh, dd's - duh!

littlerach · 08/11/2008 18:17

Dd1 would liek the mini laminator from the older bit of ELC.
She also loves HSM, so no help there!

Dd2 (4) wants books and a 2 wheeled scooter. And soem story cds. And a teething baby annabel (???)

Concepta · 08/11/2008 18:18

Mine probably would like MORE dolls - but I said NO NO NO. I have just filled a black bag of dolls to put in the attic for a while - to leave space for the Christmas presents. They know each one by name so will probably be asking for them down again soon!!!!

DD is 6.5yo. She is having a digital piano for Christmas, to be followed by piano lessons in the New Year. She also has a tiket for Take That in the summer, which she doesn;t know about yet.

Stocking fillers so far: mini weaving loom, sewing stuff, personalised book.

On list for things from relatives: magic kit,Sylvanian Family, Barbie jet/liner, art stuff, small size guitar, Bindeez, Hama, and lots of books...

Mercy · 08/11/2008 18:19

My dd is 7½ and has already written a little list of presents she wants! (she's not into HSM or Hannah Montana or any of that sort of thing)

Anyway, she wants some new books, some craft stuff, her own tape so she can use the video camera, ear-muffs, an invisible pen - can't remember what else atm.

Marne · 08/11/2008 18:21

DD (almost 5) wants, playmobil, a handbag, play-doh ice cream maker, play food, books and board games.

Wallace · 08/11/2008 18:21

my dd will be 7.5. she wants a guitar but she isn't getting it.

think we are getting her and ds1 a wii between them

Mercy · 08/11/2008 18:21

Hula, you've just reminded me that I've seen a weaving loom for dd which I'm sure she'd like!

Is it from Letterbox (or something like that)

muggglewump · 08/11/2008 18:22

Nintendo DS and Bratz. She's getting them plus new a bike too and so far other bits I have a WWE book, radiator heating up teddy, new pencil case, a couple of other books. I've still to get the PJ's and dressing gown and a HSM hat and scarf set and then the stocking fillers, of which I already have a bag of snowman pasta!
Most of what I have already is second hand bought from charity shops and the DS was bought from here, the bike is free from someone at work.

Hulababy · 08/11/2008 18:27

Mercy - yes, just ordered from letterbox. Waiting for them to arrive. I have a 20% off dicount code somewhere.

kid · 08/11/2008 18:34

Nintendo DS
bike
reading books
stickers
sticker maker
sticker scratcherz (they are fantastic, I love them nevermind the kids!)

Also saw this fantastic thing from letterbox I think. Its called 'school days' and its a role play set for schools. Perfect for my teacher obsessed DD.

Sainsburys have 1/2 price sale on at the moment, they have some craft sets. I got DD a scarf weaving set. Bargain at £3.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 08/11/2008 21:08

My ds(7yrs) wants a digi you.

Would be good for both boys and girls.

Dd just wants everything she sees!

Plonker · 08/11/2008 21:27

My 5 yo wants

Wii
Baby chou chou who grows a tooth
A guitar
Tin of mini bugs (plastic ones though!!)
Telescope

Bit of a mixed bag there eh?

My 8 yo wants

A secret diary
A digital camera
Writing books and nice pens
Fluffy dressing gown
A 'grown up' umberella (one of those that fold up really small as opposed to a disney character one)

They both would love a trampoline but dd1 (8) said that they're not putting it on their list as Father Christmas would think they're being greedy! Bless her!! ...she's right though

kid · 08/11/2008 21:31

Oh yeah, that hannah montana secret diary pillow has been on my DDs wish list for the past few months.
She also loves music so a MP3 player went down well with her last year.

jenaegi · 08/11/2008 21:38

My girls love to make things, how about a huge craft box of glitter, paint, stickers, material, etc, we do it every year and it is always the best present!! Simple!! Good luck.

Hulababy · 09/11/2008 18:54

Beware the secret diaty cushion thing. We have a HSM one. And when you plug int he MP3 player the sound is so quite you have to literally have you head laid directly on top of it in the pillow to hear it. Very disappointed.

Concepta · 09/11/2008 19:24

Thanks everyone. Ear Muffs is one of the things one of my DDs mentioned. Will add that to the list. I think I will look for some Craft Boxes - they both love that sort of thing. Our budget is limited so a Nintendo DS is out of the question. I am going shopping this week. I have written a list from this thread and will go round the shops. DDs are not fussy and will be happy whatever they get. Thanks again.

My dd (6) hasn't asked for anything particular but she always love any making type things. My mum has found her a learn to knit set which I know she will like.

I am looking for a plaster casting set to give her. The only one I've seen so far is badges, which is ok but I think she'd like something more along the lines of cute kittens or something similar to mould and paint.

TurkeyLurkey · 09/11/2008 19:39

Roller blades (should be fun )

Sylvanian family stuff.

fairydust · 09/11/2008 19:42

6 1/2

dd wants a full size keyboard
wii games
ds games
new laptop bag
hsm stuff
hannah montanna stuff
arts and crafts
books
dvd's
disco ball

Can't help. Mine wants HSM.

janeite · 09/11/2008 20:20

Mine are older now but the things they loved best at around that age were:

Huge boxes of art stuff; paper rolls; decent felt tips (Berol); nice drawing pencils; colouring books such as the Anti-Colouring book and the doodle books.

A tent from Millets; pink with flowers on it - just the right size for two little girls, a pile of pillows, a duvet and teddies!
