Whats a good first game Nintendo Ds for a boy please?

Hes only 5 (god im gonna get shot) but its a case of all his friends have one etc. I will restrict play time on it obviously but any way whats a good starter game for him to get used to it. I have got him the Disney cars game and other ideas so i can let the in laws know. (they will shoot me down too)

my mum bought ds one when he was 5 because his big sister had one. he likes mario kart and lego star wars best. the former because a simple racing format is understandable and not too many reading skills are required; the latter because he's a star wars freak.

unlike his sis who spends a happy 20 mins in Animal Crossing and then skips off to read a book he really would play for hours - it's a boy think i guess - so i have to set the oven timer because i always forget when the 20 mins are up. would rather he didn't have it but he usually accepts the time limits and enjoys playing.

Thats what i thought. I assume cars will be racing though so not the Mario Kart one?

Ive seen a peppa pig one but that may be too young, saying that 5 is young. he does like peppa pig but his two year old brother likes them more.

I'll follow this thread too as DS1 will get getting a DS for Christmas as well. If it makes you feel better muckypups, my DS is only 4. However, his friend has one, and I'm looking forward to using it as the ultimate good behaviour bribe

I'm going to get him Tetris as he loves playing that on his grandad's Gameboy (if they do it for the DS???)

Ds has a nice one called 'Disney Friends'.

Second vote for Mario Kart (quite different from 'Cars' if nintendo DS game anything like playstation one)

agree with korma - the mario games are always very addictive and accessible...

Def Mario Kart ds wants this and lot's of his friends play it! He also has star wars lego which he likes and an old style ds football game which he loves but he is football mad!
