I hate it that DD's birthday & Christmas are so close

I have just about sorted DD's 11th birthday presents

My mum is having her ears pierced
DH& I are buying her a camera

& we are going halves on the dance shoes she needs

So what on earth do I get her for Christmas - I have some books (they are 2nd hand)

I will buy a DVD (will Mamma Mia be out for Christmas?)

What else?

When is her birthday?

Oh it's not dramatically close - 21st Nov

I guess 11 is just hard to buy for

Too old for plastic tat
Too young for make up & jewellry

young lady i know who is 11.5 has an ipod alarm clock thing, wakes her up playing tunes from her fave playlist. no clue how much those things go for tho

am duly educated, thanks to amazon search facility. this thing. tho that plus the shuffle or whatever might ruin the budget?

Not as bad as our house - ds is 4 days before Christmas and I am 4 days after - you would think I would have known better, wouldn't you!

Hang on this is looking better DH reminded me we bought her some ear-rings (from the Amber Shop in Southwold) as we knew she was getting her ears pierced.
