Thinking of the Baby Born Magic Eyes and the Baby Born Mummy look I can swim (or something).

For DDs age 4.5yrs and 2.0yrs for Xmas.

DH is scared that there is no off button.

with 3 girls I have to say that all dolls end up with dead batteries eventually, so it doesn't matter what their original tricks are! You can always switch them off I suppose.

Pinkchampagne · 07/11/2008 14:45

Baby Born doesn't make a noise does it? It can just wee can't it?
I don't have girls, but my friend has 3 with lots of dolls!

I noticed they are advertised half price on the entertainer site atm.

BabyBaby123 · 07/11/2008 14:48

depends how much your dds are into dolls - mine has never been - so dolls tend to end up in the bottom of a cupboard somewhere!

The only thing I would say about Baby Born is they are hard bodied and not as easy to carry around as some of the others - little Baby Born is okay or Baby Annabell is soft bodied and does more than Baby Born.

Entertainer site? Where do I find it?

Apparently Baby Born can squeal, I think it said.

I like the idea that they can be bathed. DD1 is REALLY into dolls, DD2, not sure yet, she doesn't really have any of her own!

DD1 loves her Annabell, though she broke, so doesn't make a noise any more (hurray!).

here

We have got one for dd for x-mas, it doesn;t make a noise which is why we bought it

Marne · 07/11/2008 14:55

Dd would prefere the baby born swim but its too expensive and looks small.

Pinkchampagne · 07/11/2008 14:59

I saw a little girl with the swimming one when I took my boys swimming. Thought it would only be a cheap toy as it wasn't very big. The grandmother said it was over £20. That is one expensive bath toy!

lizandlulu · 07/11/2008 15:00

my dd has a baby born boy and it doesnt make any niose, its just a rubbery doll. i think it can wee but tbh have never tried to make it!
i dont know about the other various types though. it can go in the water cause it is solid.

Pinkchampagne · 07/11/2008 15:00

My friend's DD's must have the older versions as I am pretty sure theirs don't make noises!

lizandlulu · 07/11/2008 15:07

there is baby chou chou which makes noise, the mummy make me better one gets red cheeks and teeth grow, but its about £35 and the whole process is over in about 30 seconds!!

haggisaggis · 07/11/2008 15:12

Thanks for taht website! dd want's a boy baby born as she already has a girl one. Baby Born is known as "special baby" in our house as she can go in the bath. dd had alot of fun with her when she was a little bit younger because of that. She even came to the swimming pool on occasion!
I think if you squeeze the arm really hard they may squeak a bit - but that's it.
Hide the food though - that's a total faff.
dd loves her babies - and is now 6 - and they are still all played with.
By the way - I thoroughly recommend the Rosie and Rody dolls in Argos if your dds like playing with dolls. They are much larger - toddler sized - but can be dressed in real cast off baby clothes.

lizandlulu · 07/11/2008 15:15

i agree about the food, i tohught it was just me mixing it incorrectly, but it just looked like wallpaper paste!
my mum has bought dd a baby girl for christmas, there is 25% off in argos but not sure when till.

Cocodrillo · 07/11/2008 15:21

Haggis I just e-mailed DH with your suggestion and he says "Oh god, not even bigger dolls, no!"

Must say they look a bit creepy...
