What do you have on top of your Christmas cake??

Indulge me - I am a complete novice and am making mine for the first time this year

An angel, a straw one, bought from Oxfam years ago.

OOOps read it as Christmas Tree, I use ready roll white icing and then dd14 decorates it. In the past we've had some very unique styles imagine Father christmas, snowmen, trees, Winnie the pooh. The last couiple of years have been very tasteful star cut out of the icing with silver balls & red ribbon.

I will have ready roll white icing, but will probably pipe a bit of royal icing round the bottom.

On top I will have little decs made out out sugar icing (you can buy packets in Hobbycraft or cake dec shops). They are not going to be v fancy - just holly leaves and red berries, with a little gold dusting.

I wouldn't have had a clue, but when I got married a family friend helped me make the cake and I got quite into it all.
