I am not feeling very inspired this year. Last year I bought him a nice watch & some clothes, which he loved. This year I have no good ideas. Already bought the watch, got him aftershave earlier in the year, bought him nice shoes & trainers. Only thing I can think of is clothing, but it isn't very original or exciting is it?!

DH is getting an Xbox 360 (he has a pupil who can get a good discount on them for us)

In the past I have bought, helicopter lesson, flying lessons, bungee jump, a watch, this year he wants a tattoo .

He's into London and Miami Ink (tv programme) , it's easy enough as he's soooooo difficult to buy for. I just ask him what he wants.

Since having the DC's we've agreed not to buy for each other, we get what we want throughout the year anyway. Dp usually suprises me with something on xmas morning though.

Pinkchampagne · 07/11/2008 14:39

I have only been with my DP 15 months & he isn't my boys dad, so I have no excuse not to buy for him!

blow job.

My most successful presents for DP have always been clothes. Bit dismayed this year as I have got him some lovely slouchy PJ trousers for #30 and now he has suggested #30 spending limit (I know, the romantic fool ). So now that's his lot.

A "man gadget"? Something technological? I'm in the same boat as you, I'm sick of buying DP clothes (also because he's taking up far too much room in the wardrobe as it is) but am stumped as to what else.

Last year I tried a multi present - lots of little things instead of one big thing. I got him some books, a jigsaw, perfume, a beanbag, a lamp and some chocolate. He seemed to appreciate it so this year I'll probably do the same.

Lol @ mrsmaidamess!

I like to buy a few things too, Brangelina.

OOh, I'm feeling pretty smug about my gift for DP this year...
I'm buying him one of those those running watch computer things - the ones that can measure how far, how fast, your heart rate, calorie burn etc.

expensive, but he will love it and I will get major brownie points.

DH wants a sat nav.

He keeps talking about how he would like to play the bass guitar (trying to recapture his long lost youth) but I am not sure that I am brave enough to buy one without him agreeing. It would have to be a cheap on too

So I shall stay with the sat nav. - should make Christmas a little more peaceful if nothing else.

I'm struggling a bit this year partly coz it's dh's 30th just before Christmas and my parents have already got him a watch and a couple of other bits I had in mind. He has mentioned DAB radios - a set for the kitchen and a protable one he can use when cycling - I think it's what I'll end up going for purely because he's asked and I really can't think of anything else - doesn't really "need" anything iykwim. Also have to profess to feeling a bit lazy about it all as baby no3 due to arrive about a week after his birthday so feeling bit tired and huge for the whole searching shops thing. Will pick up a couple of small things too ie he hasn't seen the new Indiana Jones film so will get that on dvd when it comes out in a few days etc.

Usually anything gadget based, clothes, proper coffee based, cycling based, books etc hits the mark!

TheMadHouse · 07/11/2008 15:15

I have got the wii Family thing (for all of us really), a pair of PJ's (in the sale), aftershave (with boots points), red wine warmer.

It is his birthday next week and I have got him a cardi from Fatface (in the sale) - see a patern

I am also going to get him a weather clock thing from Aldi as he will love it.

Dp always gets a big pile of books and CDs plus some "bits" - last year he got Cluedo. This year he will get a big pile of books and CDs plus some stuff for running.
