How important is a steerable parent handle on a trike

Hi I want to buy my dd a trike for christmas and was wondering if I should buy one with a steerable parent handle. I've looked at the Smart trike but there seems to be issues with the tyres. Can anyone advise on any others? I'm looking to spend £50

Thanks

Never used the one on ours. Not once.

parent hand v important. will save your back big time when pushing it around the garden all afternoon.

Unless your dc can pedal, then it's not important at all!

DD1 had one without which was fine, because in those days I had all the time in the world to get anywhere when we were walking.

DD2 has handle which means she can use it for the school run even when we're late (again...) as I can take control when she's dawdling! It's from woolies I think.

We had this one, was brilliant, adjustable handle, could wheel it everywhere like a pram and put shopping in the back. Seat was also raised at back and my DS actually fell asleep while being pushed once and stayed in place! Wheels can be fixed until lo can peddle, then handle can come off and away they go. While wheeling it around had many requests for where it was from!

My DCs wanted to be pushed ALL the time when they were small, so having a long handle saved my back from all that bending. This is especially important if you are likely to be pregnant before your DD outgrows it.

I can't remember which one we had though.

Get one with a handle and also - improtant: lockable front wheel. I've seen many a person grabbling with their toddler as they steer into parked cars. Very amusing! - for me anyway!
