Is it possible to get proper old-fashioned fuzzy felt?

I loved this as a child (remember having a ballerina set and a circus, amongst others). I bought some recently (this one from Amazon and it was rubbish! Really flimsy.

Is the proper stuff still available anywhere? Or is this the same and I just remember it being better than it was?

I loved it as well - many happy childhood hours spent making up stories, I cannot imagine my DS ever doing that, maybe tis girl thing

We have ELC & M&S both quite sturdy,ballerina,fairies,house and faces.

This says that "Fuzzy Felt is still made with as much care as the original" so maybe it is your rose-tinted specs!

I think the Hawkins one is from the same people as the one I've bought?

Your ds might surprise you. Mine enjoyed playing with it (well for 10-15 mins) and he isn't normally keen on arty crafty stuff at all.

we just got some for our 3 dc,i got it in hawkins bizarre .its really good.

I loved fuzzy felts as a child too, I had the seaside one. I've bought some from the ELC, but sadly my dc don't seem to share my love of it. Actually I haven't had it out for ages, may bore them to death get it out for them later

I got ours from eBay and its great.

I have the ELC one. Ds used to play with it quite happily.

I think I got some in Mothercare or Toys R us..Also got a very cool new baby card that was made out of Fuzzy felt the other day.You could move the pram and the Mummy shape around

My mum got some at a Car Boot sale, dd (2.5) LOVES it! She is searching charity shops for more, think my aunt is too... Will tell her you can get it new as well, Hawkins Bazaar looks great.

You could try a Toymaster store if you have one nearby. Ours has the real old fashiond stuff ( no printing in the felt) and made by Fuzzy felt. We have a great big box of the stuff.
