Is 2 year old sherry OK for making Christmas Cake?

We're not big sherry drinkers in this house and I have a bottle which has been open at least 2 years. Can I still use it to make my cake or do I have to fork out for another bottle that'll stil be there in 2 years time

Thanks!

It'll be fine.

I would say so. My mum used the same bottle of brandy in her christmas cakes for about 10 years.

Fabulous - thank you. Perhaps I'd better make a concerted effort to polish off the bottle this year though, just in case!
