Present idea for single man aged 60 who already has everyhting!

Hi

Am really hoping someone can help! I have a lovely uncle aged 60 who I would like to buy as nice a gift as I can for (max budget £40)

The problem is as he is single he has a large disposable income and so pretty much buys anything he wants!

A couple of ideas I had were:
Smythson/Kiki james diary- but the Smythson ones didnt look all that great on the website-seemed a bit cheap looking?

A really good dinner party/posh food cook book

A nice personalised pen- not sure where i would get this though?

Please can anyone else help- Im desperate!

olive tree/ orange tree in a nice pot

theatre vouchers/ tickets/

cashmere thing

annual ticket to somewhere near him (eg my aunt will get kew Gardens this year)

foodie hamper

short cookery course? maybe outside budget

tickets for a wine tasting event

what does he like doing?

Presents don't always mean something with a ribbon on. if he has a lot of disp income, then he might loathe your pressie, but may be interested in meeting new people or doing something worthy?

Go to endfistula.org and buy him a cesarean section for a woman who cannot have a vaginal birth after obstetric fistula.

Or buy him a dry stone walling class or similar with the National Trust, that way he has fun at the class and ends up doing something worthy for the next generation.

Would make a charity donation on his behalf

Wow replies already! thank you. Re charity suggestions he gives a LOT of money to charity already as he is a devout christian and he spends a lot of time volunteering as well. As he kind of has this area 'cornered' if you know what I mean, I would feel a bit funny about it- like teaching him to suck eggs IYKWIM.

I like the hamper idea- could definitely work on that

Also the olive tree- silly question from very un-greenfingered person- would it grow here? he lives in the north east (very cold most of the year!). would he actually get olives from it? he loves olives so this could be a winner.

A hat, comic books from his youth (check ebay), some kitchen gadgets, a calender with family photos each month

I am getting dh for his birthday a bar book, and a slection of liqueurs and mixers to make me cocktails in fact that is why I cam online so I am going to get my bahooky off mn

i am no expert on growing olives, but I think in this country they are more decorative than for eating as we won't get the sun to ripen them much? so they will grow but won't exactly produce an abundant crop.

has he got a conservatory or similar area?

you could do some googling to see what is recommended
this one for example says it needs shelter from frost

This also says conservatory or sunny windowsill so I think growing outdoors is not advised.

Cashmere socks - he may or may not have thought of them himself but they are a lovely present IMO. You should only afford 1 pair and then he is rich enough to buy more himself! - Woods of Shropshire do a nice range of colours. Brora do them too but they were too 'country' for me, they wouldn't be adaptable to everyday wear, and the point would be to have feet in heaven EVERY day.
