so will these be in the sales at all? do ipods generally go into them?

has told me to do an iou for it, and get it after xmas and save cash. which is sensible really.

DH always says that electro stuff is cheaper after Xmas, that is when we buy. Don't know about ipods, was thinking about getting DH one too.

I always get something from the sales for my birthday in the beginning of Jan. It is quite handy.

Me! DH wants parts for his Land Rover, but wants to wait till January.. but his Mum and Step Dad are coming down and i think they're going to think i'm stingy and havent gotten him anything.

KatieDD · 04/11/2008 20:16

Are things like that really cheaper in the sales ?
DH wants a 80gb PS3

SmallShips · 04/11/2008 20:16

I think i'll get him some smellies to open.

compo · 04/11/2008 20:17

nope
dh would be if he had nada under the xmas tree on xmas morning

misdee · 04/11/2008 20:17

sometimes katie. but i think apple reduce ipods later in the year, just before they rel;ease new models. so he may have to wait a little while longer.

I will tell you where a lot of stuff was much cheaper last year. Amazon.de, the German website. The Wii was selling much cheaper over there, we ordered 2, one for my brother, one for his pal.

DrippingLizzie · 04/11/2008 20:19

Damned right we are. Need a new camcorder, iPod (and, if there's any cash left, a Nespresso coffee machine) and will be getting my sleeping bag and flask ready for queuing outside the Trafford Centre when the sales hit

callmeovercautious · 04/11/2008 20:22

We do IOUs as well, only if we are fairly sure it will be cheaper. We got a great deal on an MP3 player on Tottenham Court Road (loads of electrical shops). We combined the trip with a Sales trip to Oxford Street. It was manic so don't take DCs with you!

I'm not sure that ipods do come down in the sales, though the prices certainly drop on those and other such products when they're not the newest thing out. It's also worth shopping around a bit - when I was burgled in January and had to make an insurance claim, nearly everything I had to replace had come down a bit in price, but there was also £100 difference between Argos (where I'd originally bought some, not all, the things) and Amazon (for 3 of the items including 2 ipods).

elkiedee · 04/11/2008 21:08

Yes, misdee, my impression too that Apple's reductions probably won't be in the Jan sales.
