Vtech Baby Laptop - Would you recommend it?

I'm thinking of buying one of these for ds who will be 16 months by Christmas. Would you recommend it or are there any better ones out there?

We bought leappad tiny touch for ds who will be 19 months at xmas - looks good, lots of "games" like first words and such like.

Actually got ours on ebay for about £10 - boxed - good enough for ds to eat/skribble on/throw at the cat/use as a step

I think there great play and learn at the same time my son was doing addition by the time he was 5 and was really good at it i think it really develops their minds.

Thanks for your replies. I'll go and have a look at all the LeapPad and Vtech stuff in Toys R US at the weekend. It's difficult to tell from a picture and a short description.

My daughter got the baby laptop for her first birthday, and loves it to bits! It's also a good size for taking out with you - it's v funny to see her in the car seat with it, looks like she's doing work!
