Where can I get Christmas Crackers that dont cost too much and contain either little people or animals or characters or some such thing. Something that can be played with. We never use the tat that usually comes in crackers. I remember seeing, maybe a few years ago, crackers with china angels or snowmen or teddies or something in. Anyone seen any?

Had ours from Boots last year, they had clockwork santas and reindeers and a game board to race them on - great fun.

John Lewis do something similar too iirc, seem to remember seeing them online.

You can buy make your own crackers in tesco for a few pounds(or you could last year) and then you could fill them with the things you want.

Oh but the joy of crackers is to see who gets the plastic moustache or the lovely hairslide

I was also going to suggest make-your-own ones. Hawkins Bazaar usually sell them. They have the snaps in them, but you can fill them with whatever you like.

Could you buy some make your own crackers kits and fill with toys of your choice? I think Sainsburys do a six cracker kit for about £4. They already contain the snap, and paper hat and joke, you only need to roll up and fasten the ends with the bits inside. You could include a balloon or a tiny choc santa or coin.

I used to make them years ago, and label them so that each gift was more personal. Adults used to get grown-up items, such as eyeshadow, earrings, keyring etc. or miniature choc log truffles from Thorntons.

Yes, I suppose I could make my own! I was hoping I would buy them
