Ask her mum or an older sibling if she has one. Not all 13 yr olds are the same!

Clothes, smellies (Lush), cinema voucher, filofax, mobile phone top up voucher...

May I suggest that you get a few of all of these things and make up a box of goodies? You can make it as cheap or expensive as you like then. Get things like face pack sachets and hair care ones too. Jewellery from Primark. Make-up brushes and nail care stuff. Claires Acessories. The list is endless really.

Cover a box with Crimbo paper or stuff it all into one of those Christmas bags, with a bit of pretty tissue paper sticking out the top.

I would play safe with a voucher

Claire's Accessories, or Accessorize (more upmarket) will have loads of bits - hair stuff, make-up, nail varnish, jewellery, stationery, mobile phone charms. Primark, Top Shop, New Look for clothes, scarves, bags.

Plus the usual books, CDs, DVDS tho they seem to download everything to their MP3s now and don't have actual CDs much, so itunes voucher better.

If you're spending lots, ceramic hair straighteners from ghd but they prob have those!
