just wondering really.

I have (I have saved £20 PW since january with a club that my SIL runs), and I am feeling a little bit guilty now with all the threads of people who are now struggling for xmas.

I have done it each and every year since we married.......the first year was with 'family hampers' IIRC which went bust a couple of years back, and that year I did the food hampers and choc hampers. Now I save just money.

I actually have a huge budget now of £1000 for all my family and friends that I buy for, but god I feel bad now, and very indulgent.

am I the only one here who has done this tho?? I feel like it reading all the threads about so far!

I did it one year before I had kids but it was one whre you got vouchers so it was very restricted - they were Boots M&S etc but still annoying so never did it again.

Don't really need to now fortunately, although I suppose if you put a bit away each month into a separate account that's a sensible thing to do. We don't go OTT at Xmas though so we don't need thousands or anything!

I do (or rather, did). I had a list of 42 people to buy for last year, so, if you think about it, £1000 does not go too far, especially factoring in the 5 children and DH.

this year the list is considerably less.....and the vouchers/money (I have a mixture) will go on food as well!

42 people?! that's ridiculous!

We don't buy for the adults, onlykids, so it's only my 3 and my 2 nieces. Easy.

I've saved with our work Christmas Club, and have done for the last couple of years. It used to be very popular but now there's only a handful of us, guess people are more wary now. I see it as being the same as putting a little away each month into another savings account, but know if I had control, I'd withdraw the money every month I got a little short

Didn't think about my budget well this year though, will be about £40 short so going to have to scale back a bit

gobbledegook....just done a quick headcount and I have 20 this year.......MUCH better.

oh no, 22....((must not forget my mother and aunt))!

that does however include my 5 and DH, plus my 4 neices and nephews.

MIL and PIL
BIL and SIL
godson
cousins new baby
DH's aunt and uncle (only a token gift as they always buy for the children)

not so bad really.

biscuits..........that is the reason I save too. more control.....I am a mare at taking it for something important otherwise!

oooh....forgot flame, her DH and her flamebabies.

we always buy for each other as we get together on boxing day and have another mini xmas day (altho we won;t this year as she is abandoning us to go to her in-laws)
