Help DS just saw his santa present

I ordered my DS present online and put on my neighbours delivery address but when it got delivered today she was out so the DHL guy knocked on our door and when I went to answer it, with DS, here is the bike. DS saw it but I managed to get him back in the house and the bike in the shed.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can dig myself out of this one!

DS is 4.

santa is running out of room so wondered if you could store it for him until xmas.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 20/10/2008 09:37

how about saying, that sometimes santa is so busy, he asks mummys and daddys to be his helpers for the day - like the elves, and now mummy has to give the bike to santa?

(failing that say it's not for him it's for someone else??)

Santa is too busy to make all the toys so sometimes mummy and daddy buy them and santa sends his elves to collect them and he wraps them up all nicely (or sticks bows on them since its a bike ) and brings them back on his sleigh.

def say it wasn't for us, the man got the wrong address.

moopymoo · 20/10/2008 09:40

is he asking about it? if hes not i would bank on him forgetting the details and use reasons above if it comes up on the day. here, we have presents from us and santa just brings stocking stuff anyway. i want the glory and thanks you see...

edam · 20/10/2008 09:40

Did he see the actual bike, close up enough to see detail? Or just 'a' bike?

If close up, would suggest Armadillo's or Spandex's ideas. If not, keep schtum. If ds asks, tell him that bike was for someone else. Or fall back on the excuses.

SheSellsSanctury · 20/10/2008 09:51

He has just asked where the bike is. Told him that the man came back for it as it was for another little boys birthday and the man just got the wrong house.

He said that he really liked the bike so have told him that we will write a letter to Santa to see if he could bring him one on Christmas Day. Not sure if he is convinced but think I might just avoid the subject unless he brings it up.

Would add that very impressed with Woolworths. Only ordered it on Friday as they had a 3for2 offer on and that is it here already.

Thanks for all your replys.

I think you've sorted that one, then!

My 3 y/o found a 'Lightning MqQueen' cars track I bought him last year. He found it under my bed, opened it and everything.

I firstly went mad told him off and then said it was for someone else.

2 months later on xmas morning, he said 'oh it's just like the one under your bed'!
