We are off to Disneyland in Florida this year and I've primed the kids that FC will be leaving them a stocking in Florida and their main presents back home under the tree when they come home. So, I have to fill 2 x stockings with stocking fillers and transport them in the suitcase.... my girls are 4 and 10 (and yes, she still believes!!). I don't want to give them all tat in their stockings - we are going with grandparents (who are paying - their treat of a lifetime!!)... and they are buying Nintendo DS for youngest and Ipod for eldest. I haven't a clue what to put in their stockings. Am thinking the usual small things - jewellrey, lip glosses etc for 10 year old but any new ideas (small/light/non-breakable) would be really appreciated!!

Socks? Pack of decorated tissues? Keyrings? Facecloths - maybe the ones which are folded up really tight and have to be put in water before using? And a satsuma of course!

Thanks annh. Great idea about the facecloths.. anyone else?

I was going to suggest similar to annh.

However, do not bring any fruit with you into the US as fruit importation of any kind is strictly prohibited by the authorities.

No, I was thinking you could get the satsumas there - bigger, better and cheaper! And probably the obligatory chocolate too - although you might want to bring that with you, US chocolate being .... bleurgh! Have also put funny magnets into stockings before and tiny glitter-type lamps which run on batteries. I bought some in Debenhams last year and took the plastic cover off before travelling to cut down on the size.

I was going to suggest that you get little trinkets whilst you are there. When I went to florida, a long time ago, there were shops everywhere. This would save trying to transport things.........just a thought.

You really need to buy your chocolate before you go!! When we went we all suffered from chocolate withdrawal symptoms, theirs is horrible!!!!!
A trip to one of their big Walmart stores will probably give you loads of ideas for stocking fillers. Americans have lovely ideas for Christmas. We went in October one year and i bought loads of presents whilst we were there
