I need to buy presents for the following:

11 mth old niece

12 mth old god daughter

6 mth old nephew

(these are the ages they'll be at Christmas)

Don't really want to spend more than £10 (£15 at a push) on each child.

Any ideas?

Arghh, nightmare presents to buy for IMO.

Something practical I would say, that may help the parents rather than toys IYSWIM.

It awful but being the parent of a 10 month old and a 2 yr old, I cringe when they get bought more toys.

I've not been hugely helpful have I

SoloTheCharmedOne · 10/10/2008 14:39

How much do you want to spend on each gift?

MrsMattie · 10/10/2008 14:48

£10? £15 at a push...

They've all got older, same sex siblings, so are drowning in toys and clothes already.

It's the age where they will (in the not to distant future) start to explore shapes, puzzles, books etc.
I always think books and puzzles dont go wrong.

magicofchristmas · 10/10/2008 14:56

Or if you want to get something special/different how about, for the younger two, getting tree decoraton saying baby's first chistmas 2008.

Nbg · 10/10/2008 14:59

How about a nice blanket?

My mum bought my dd one from Gap for her first christmas.
Its a bit like a mini quilt and she still uses it now and she is 5.

ask the parents?

Lilyloo · 10/10/2008 19:54

My dd will be 11 months and i am going to get her a box of helium balloons. £1.97 each at asda! You can then give them a bit of money for their savings account.
Am sure this will be loved as dd had one for her christening and played with it a lot and was handy as they try to eat everything at this age but they can never get them in their mouths!
Will also be much loved by parents as they are disposable pressies!

MrsMattie, if I can get my sewing machine sorted out...take a look at my profile pics...

bellabelly · 11/10/2008 00:00

contribution towards their Child Trust Funds...?

bellabelly · 11/10/2008 00:01

Honestly, we are thrilled if someone gives us a cheque towards that!

JustPoppedIn · 11/10/2008 00:03

Solo - I wanted to take a look but cannot view your profile, what is it you have?

solo · 11/10/2008 00:10

have a look now...they're at the bottom.

JustPoppedIn · 11/10/2008 00:15

They look fab.

How much do you charge for them?

solo · 11/10/2008 00:19

Thank you! £20 usually, though if more than one ordered at the same time, a little discount can be arranged. The edges are all hand blanket stitched and all safety stitched so no possibility of baby/child being strangled. Each blanket is totally unique too.

JustPoppedIn · 11/10/2008 00:21

Are the blankets nice and soft?

solo · 11/10/2008 00:23

I have a 'Jack' and a 'Grace' for sale atm which were some of my early ones...willing to let them go cheaper if anyone interested. They are very nice, but not as nice as the more recent ones(practise ).

solo · 11/10/2008 00:24

Yes, they are fleece. Not anti pil as they'd be very expensive. Washable, but not tumble dryer safe.

Flibbertyjibbet · 11/10/2008 00:26

I usually go for art equipment and big piles of crayons and colouring books for the little ones. They can have a go at them at any age! That way when they are used they don't have to hang round the house.

Agree with pjs as well, we have lots of pairs but if anyone buys us any more I am well pleased.

JustPoppedIn · 11/10/2008 00:27

I would like one for my dd Solo
