I have been thinking about making a Christmas Eve Hamper my current ideas are :

New Mugs
Marshmallows
Snowman Soup - Hot chocolate mix
Puzzle
Slipper Socks
Christmas DVD
Brownies -- too many mince pies to come
Homemade Cornucopia with chocies

any thing else that would be fun ?
I can`t drink as pregnant so normally would have put some mini baileys in.

i'm sure one drink wouldnt hurt. it is christmas after all, and no health care professional has said not to drink at all as far as i know, they say one or two units a week will not do any harm. anyway, you will want a nice book to read in bed,

If it is for children as well, I wrote a letter for DS's last Christmas from father Christmas, it said that he had recieved their letter and had tried his best to get the things they wanted. But that he was only allowed to arrive after they had gone to sleep.

If you don't have children all of the above is irrelevant

DVDs: the Muppet Christmas Carol and Its a Wonderful Life. Defy anyone not to be in the spirit afer that. Cd: Carols from Kings College. Envelope with internet link inside to the NORAD site tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve (its FAB!!) and Starbucks mince pies (best ever)

ledodgy · 07/10/2008 12:23

I was pregnant last Christamas and had a bailey's or two. You only put a very small amount in the glass and fill with ice and it's like you're having lots!

Its an adults one i`m not seeing family and nieces/nephews until the next day. I will be 7 months gone by then. So its about US time and I a slight christmasholic (sp).

I will be doing mini kiddy versions for my friends children but on a cheaper scale. I normally see them on the week running up to christmas and its a slight tradition I take something.

the other thing I do on Christmas eve is sit with the children and look at our annual photo album..
I make it during November like a scrap book favorite days out parties and stuff. We sit and remind ourselves of the good things that have happened during the year.

cherryliquormonster · 07/10/2008 12:26

lol. i was cherrymonster because i loooooove cherries, but changed it for xmas. might keep it though- i kinda like it. agree with compo- you must have new pj's on christmas eve- we always do in my house, even the grown ups. books- call the midwife is good, most of the other ones i got are really sad- not good for a happy night.

cremolafoam · 07/10/2008 12:30

Party poppers
a few things to hang on the tree
mini hotties
cinnamon sticks

brookeslay · 07/10/2008 12:37

I love cherries too in the summer i had a mega craving for them but they were so blooming expensive ! I will add happy call the midwife book to my amazon list.

The scrap book/photo album is nice I collect bits all year so should really get around to sticking in some order. So bravo you for being organised.
