Think this has just been released this morning. I have no idea who James Norton is but it’s an alright watch!

Complete Thirst Tramp.

James Norton and his chiselled abs wandering about in towel, then wrapped in sexy jumper.

There’s store that knows who does the buying in most households.

…off to buy DH and M&S jumper in the hope he turns into James Norton.

I really like the premise of JN and LP. It’s quite Christmasy.
However yet again it’s all too much/ too long.
Also the timeline is stupid. Is it pre Christmas Day or Christmas Lunch ( so why is M and S open)

I like it! Does Lucy Punch say "shit!" when she sees Hot Santa at M&S? It sounded like it on a first watch but surely not!

I had it on mute and lip read it as that!

Pabbel · Yesterday 18:19

Like it better than the JLewis one, but looking forward to Kevin carrot in Aldi one 😂

We are all so different. I hated the bear and the hare advert. My favourite was years ago with the young boy desperate to give his parents their gift. Or the boxer on the trampoline!

Edited

I hated the bear and hare too.I

Little girl, her telescope and the man on the moon will always be my number one.

I loved this ad!

I don't really like it tbh! James Norton is gorgeous but it's all so middle class Christmas, usually the big shops adverts were to disguise the fact they're trying to sell things and it's all very in your face this year with this and the John Lewis one.

The Bear and the Hare was the pinnacle of Christmas ad TV for me.

What’s wrong with middle class? Not everyone is on benefits bloody hell

Denim4ever · Yesterday 18:27

All the better for it, she's been doing it too long and the ads with her are neither funny nor inspiring

The Bear and the Hare with the horrendous Lily Allen cover, complete with her silly fake estuary accent.

There isn't a much better sight than James Norton in a towel - except maybe James Norton - without a towel. That would start my Christmas off on the right note.😁

TheBers · Yesterday 18:56

Dawn had sod all to to with the actual ad concept though. She was roped in as a classic British lovey who clearly likes food.

“Hot man” is a great Christmas idea. I remember my parents veiled jokes at once a year Chrustmas intimacy.

I do feel for Mrs Claus, Santa comes but once a year and when he does it's in a chimney.

I didn't hate it but stopping a lost stranger and just inviting them in would never happen, even if they did look like James Norton.

It’s more likely we’d help a stranger than we would see a fairy flying around the Christmas food…

Coconutter24 · Yesterday 19:43

I liked it, it was nice to watch, I actually caught myself sat smiling at it!

Pollyanna87 · Yesterday 20:23

I was surprised that Dawn French was around for last year’s advert, considering she’d long before said some very unpleasant things about Oct 7th.

TheBers · Yesterday 20:27

But why was he invited for Christmas Dinner when M&S was open later before he wizzed back to Christmas with the wife - and when was he working ?

MrsLargeEmbodied · Yesterday 20:34

i really like it
i like both actors

RipplePlease6 · Today 07:49

Love it. Yes, there are holes in the narrative but it looks beautiful, James Norton is gorgeous and it ticks all the Christmas visuals boxes - snow, lights, Father Christmas, folk eating round a table. Definite winner.
Watched the Tesco one. Very different to the M and S but still good.

It may have been part of her contract to do that final campaign / ad.

It may have been part of her contract to do that final campaign / ad.

I imagine so, but I would thought they’d rather just pay her and not use her if need be. Surely there’ll be clauses re controversial political statements etc. Not to mention that Marks and Spencer is a Jewish business.

What's wrong with middle class Christmas again?

I like this ad, though not a tear jerker it's light and fun.

No one is allowed to admit to being middle class these days.

Vitrolinsanity · Today 14:47

I’ve just ordered the Lucy Punch pyjamas. If JN could deliver them that’d be just marv.

Who exactly is preventing people from ‘admitting to being middle class’?

DeafLeppard · Today 15:09

Yeah, that’s good, he’s looking like a snack. And yes, getting rid of the beard is always the right move.
