Are there any pilots here who could recommend aeroplane-related present ideas? I mean actual useful things (on a limited budget), not tat with a picture of a plane on it.
i’d love to get something that would actually be appreciated, but most aeroplane things are £££!

There is a mini motor that attaches to paper planes that one builds and is remote controlled. Could be fun.
Vintage book.. such as Lake Boga at War. Brett Freeman.

There is a pilot on here somewhere, pops up on flightradar threads. I can't remember their username though.

Do you mean for a pilot? Or a student pilot? Or a wannabe pilot or someone who just loves aircraft?

RubaiyatOfAnyone · Today 01:00

For a pilot (hobbyist, not pro).
thank you for suggestions - that book looks good and i don’t think he’s read it, and i will definitely be searching out the powered-paper aeroplane, for the DC if nothing else!

I got my husband a flight radar screen thing where it shows the planes going over head, quite pricy at £100ish but addictive to watch. You can get it on Etsy.

If he's an active PPL'r the charts/knee board suggestion isn't a bad one but there might be personal preference to consider.

On the book side of things the one tome many pilot's have or have had on a shelf is "Fate is the Hunter" by Ernest K. Gann.

Does he have a favourite aeroplane? Our DS loves the Haynes Owners' Workshop manuals.

Thank you all. I know he’s recently got a new kneeboard and chart (some people have no consideration for looming christmas presents). That book is definitely going on the list. He flies an rv7, and there doesn’t seem to be a Haynes manual that i can see, but agree that would be a fab present.
