We are hosting boxing day for the first time this year. This is the only day of the year the whole family is together and the first time ever it hasn't been at my parents house! I am asking family to bring booze and pudding.
What nice and low pressure things is everyone making over xmas?

Beef and onion pie, beef cooked in the slow cooker with gravy for 5/6 hours, shred the beef, remove to an oven dish, cover with shortcut pastry and serve with mash and veg.
Are you looking for a proper meal idea or buffet?

Curry or chilli.

I always have a curry party on Christmas Sunday.

Additionally I do Southern chicken legs/ thighs for the people who don't eat spice.
Big triffle and ice cream.

In am probably going to go for more buffet style as there are 15 of us and all different ages.

I’d be inclined to do something in advance and freeze it, like a couple of curries or casseroles. Going away next weekend with a group and I’m making a veg curry and beef chilli. You don’t want to spend the day faffing and I think that’s easier than doing lots of buffet stuff.

When you say buffet style do you mean hot or cold?
things like quiche are always handy - we all enjoy that, jacket potatoes with a selection of fillings
pulled pork baps

lamb tagine/chilli/lasagne/spag Bol??

cold options are endless
grazing boards
cheese & pate and crackers
salads with cooked ham
traditoonal sandwiches/ sausage rolls etc

how many people can you cook for in an air fryer.

shellyleppard · Yesterday 17:10

@GintyMcGinty depends on how big the air fryer is. I've done two small turkey joints in my double one before. While they were resting I cooked the roast potatoes and roast parsnips. Vegetable was cooked on the hob.

I made enough roasties last night for 12 people

Sticky spare ribs, green salad with blue cheese and pecans, corn on the cob and small potatoes roasted in their skins with some whole cloves of garlic. So long as your family eats pork this is an incredibly easy crowd pleaser. If they don't, you could replace with chicken pieces marinated in a nice sticky sauce. If some eat pork you could add cocktail sausages to this - nigella's cranberry and soy glaze would be perfect.

For a Boxing Day buffet I would do..
Cold meat, Turkey/Honey roast ham.
Cheese board with lots of chutney/breads/chutneys etc.
jacket potatoes kept on the side in a slow cooker.
Home made sausage rolls.
billinis, smoked salmon
posh crisps
For sweets I would make an easy sponge tray bake, probably sticky toffee pudding or spotted dick and id leave hot on the hob custard or clotted cream.
Last year I made an “Ultimate Chocolate Trifle” that I copied from somebody on Tik Tok and that was amazing.

We are a m&s party food type household on Boxing Day, along with leftovers. Footies on, play games and it’s quick to cook
