Vegetarian/vegan Christmas food extras from the supermarket? (Not mince pies)

Eg last year either Lidl or Aldi was doing a vegetarian savoury pastry ring or something, it was sold out so I didn’t get to try it but everyone raved about it.

So what else might be in the shops for a few months only? Savoury or sweet, single portion eg small chocolate bar, up to large family sized thing, what have you seen?

Things I already know about -

Mince pies (obviously)
Christmas pudding
Cadburys Christmas puddings (chocolate)

any other vegetarian things you rave about?

Lebkuchen - German Christmas biscuits. Very nice. Waitrose have them already.

I have a Waitrose near me, they’re on my list thank you!

Panettone also from Waitrose?

Yes Waitrose do really good panettone.

BarbaraUsher · 17/10/2026 15:38

Waitrose Stollen slices. And I usually hate shop cakes.

The bubble and squeak vegetable stacks look perfect, but way out of my price range unfortunately. I’m happy to spend that amount, but I’d want more in the packet tbh.

I’ll have a nose around Waitrose.

Asda usually do a great chestnut wreath but didn't have it last year or if they did it was completely sold out everywhere because I never saw it. They also only have it for like 2 weeks. I always wanted it for st nicks day but its never out then.

Most of the stuff we get isn't specific to Christmas though. Like I always have spring rolls for xmas breakfast even though you can get them all year round etc...

Thanks @housethatbuiltme , I’ll keep an eye out for that. It’s the things that are only im the shops for that Christmas window that I’m interested in, like you say spring rolls are in the shops year round so don’t have the same level of excitement for me!

Thank you, that is exactly the kind of weird Christmas-only thing I am looking for!

Sainsburys pigs in blankets got good reviews from our vegans last year, as did a chocolate torte from M&S which we’ve ordered again this year.

@TheFormerMrsTruelove I have an M&S and Sainsbury’s close by, Thankyou.

M&S are doing a vegan chocolate torte. The Waitrose version of it last year was amazing

bababamama · 19/10/2026 14:37

Lidl had a savoury sausage wreath last year, not in yet but they only have around half the frozen Christmas stock in so far at our branch as they are still selling off random special themed foods that were lingering in their freezers

omghereistrouble · 19/10/2026 16:25

i find Aldi and Waitrose good for vegan festive bits but its worth trying Asda too
