What are you getting DH for Christmas?

For the first time ever, I’m stumped. Dh doesn’t like experience gifts and doesn’t want sport merch (has so much already!). Would love some inspiration from what others are getting their DH! Dh likes cooking, chess and football / F1.

DH and I always do presents, after various losses and other family circumstances we are the only people that buy for us these days (apart from DS who’s still in his teens).

I am a bit stumped so far this year, but past successes have included a nice paella pan and some ingredients, Apple Watch, decent over ear noise cancelling headphones, vouchers for a cook school, sessions with a PT.

i know your DH doesn’t like experiences, but what about hospitality tickets to a football match if within budget?

I have got him a soda stream as he likes and buys fizzy water. A pair of Blundstone boots and some H24 Hermes scent.

Is there a character he likes? I have bought a mug and a tshirt with 'Simon's cat' on them for my husband. I usually put a pair of socks in his stocking, got some Iron Maiden ones this year. His birthday is December so struggle sometimes with both, but i have got him some personalised chopsticks for his birthday from Notonthehighstreet online.

Nothing at the moment, luckily we saved for Christmas in terms of food, dc and family and then usually do our own separately. But DP broke his ankle 2 weeks ago so will be out of work for 6 weeks which means we will be a little short. So we agreed not to buy each other gifts until he’s gone back to work and we see where we are financially. Tbh we just end up buying each other clothes anyway so it wouldn’t be that amiss.

Mine used to enjoy books by the author John Grisham, so the latest book by him usually went down well, plus his favourite Green and Black chocolate. Plus a nice birthday cake from the local bakery.

We also usually go out to a nice local restaurant on the birthday itself.

We just buy token gifts. We used to buy something for the house but we have everything.

I often struggle with DH Xmas gift but this year I have treated him to a new surface pro jointly for his birthday and Xmas. It's far more than I normally spend on his Xmas gift but we are getting older and I know he gets frustrated as his old one is very slow and this one has fast processing speed and large memory. I'm relieved to be able to get him something he really wants this year. Last year I got him cricket tickets for international match.
