Can anyone kindly recommend fun board games for Christmas, for 10 years +?

We already have;

  • Battleship
  • LOADS of monopoly sets
  • Cluedo
  • Dobble
  • Blokus
  • Frustration
  • Connect 4
  • Labyrinth
  • Cranium
  • Articulate

Can anyone recommend some new, easy to learn, and fun games that will be suitable for kids and adults to play on Christmas Day and beyond?

Thanks 😁

Not sure you'd strictly describe these as board games, but the two mainstays of our Christmas are "Exploding Kittens" and "Just the one". Love letter is also popular.

Flip 7
Rummikub
Skull
No Thanks

All are very quick to learn and quick to play. We've had a lot of fun with them

Last christmas we got exploding kittens, herd mentality and quick stop.

I really liked herd mentality and quick stop, exploding kittens took a bit more work to understand all the rules.

Our all time favourite is Gubs, and everyone I’ve given it to enjoys it too.
Apples to Apples, like a family friendly Cards Against Humanity.
The Game of Things.

We just got Where is Moldova? as DD wanted it after a podcast recommendation. It is not hard but has lots of different bits of game play which I found annoying so I don’t think I recommend.

Second vote for Catan- it was in all the student houses when daughter went to Cambridge but it starts simply and then builds - it’s fabulous.

also pixies is fun

In addition to others named previously, we love Dixit. You can get card expansion packs too.

OK play is a good one (like an older connect 4), and portable so a good one for holidays/ lunches out etc.

Ticket to ride is popular in our house.

Telestrations is great for a big groups (4-8 people) and really funny with kids drawings.

Carcasson is a firm favourite here and also has expansion packs. You can start off basic and build.

If they don’t have dyslexia then Banagrams - you can give weaker players a head start to even things up.

  • Sushi Go!

We love Slapzi in our house and it is such a hit that all of DD’s friends and cousins who tried it here convinced their families to buy it and it is the top game in most of their households now too:
