Best first Playmobil set

I'm want to get my 3 year old a Playmobil set. She loves pretending to be babies, various animals and is always pretending there's a monster/dragon round every corner
She's got a few small character figures that she doesn't really play with but this would be her first proper set so I'm hoping if we play with her at the start she'll get the hang of it and love it
But there are so many sets!
Budget up £0- £60. I've seen the animal hotel and the nursery set (my life toddler group). Any other ideas?
Or if not Playmobil then any other ideas for small world play? I showed her Sylvanian families in the shops today and she wasn't fussed at all!

Does she like paw patrol? My three year old uses the dogs for all sorts of imaginary play and rescues. There are some quite good Playmobil dragons you could add to a garage set for the paw patrol crew. Vinted is probably your friend to piece together a collection of things she'd like.

I got a Duplo set for my DGD when she was 2 and she’s still playing with it at 5. She also has Sylvanians but she didn’t start playing with them until more recently. What I like about the Duplo is that she can do a lot of the construction herself (once shown how to) and she also makes it into birthday cakes and other creations of her own. I’ve picked up a lot more pieces (especially animals) from charity shops and Duplo continues to be a well loved toy.

We've got 2 huge boxes of the basic duplo bricks but I never thought of getting her a set like that. I'll take a look thanks. It might be better than the tiny pieces in playmobil

No she's never watched paw patrol. Good tip for vinted, I'll take look now!

All you can do is match it to her likes/interests.

I got my son his first set when he was nearly 4 at Christmas - a big castle set. Its been routinely played with for years now. He loves castles and knights so it worked well.

In general though I'd look for one that has a big building/location, and then lots of characters/animals/accessories etc. The building gives you somewhere to store it all, and helps a lot in my opinion, compared to just a load of animals/people.

Sylvanian families where my child hood lol but does she like baby animals?

She does, she loves all her stuffed animals and pretending some are babies and some are parents

You can always try and get sets related to that Combine her interests

My kids had loads of Playmobil but their favourite was the swimming pool. You could actually fill it with a bit of water and it had a water slide. We put it down on the kitchen floor on top of a towel and they had hours of fun making the dolls swim.

We got our then 3 year old the zoo hospital set, she's 7 now and her collection has grown some but she still loves to get it out now and again.

Does playmobil still do the 123 version, larger parts and less teeny tiny bits. My DC had the 123 house to start with.

Dd got the zoo first (age 2.5) and loved it as she loved animals. If your wee one likes families I’d go for a play park set or the nursery one and then maybe also get some furniture sets to play bedtimes as that seems to be a fun game for little ones. Then build on it. A car for their outings or a dog to walk etc. Don’t go down the 123 route as there is no longevity there. My grandchildren now play with the sets I had as a child at my
psrents!! Back when it was “play people”

Dd absolutely loved the family fun aquarium, it still comes out from time to time now (about 4 years later.) I think you can get it for about £20-30 on Ebay. Our version came with a little penguin area too.

DD has the stables which i picked up on Ebay for about £20 for an £80 set.
It's also been a zoo, a nursery(!), where her mini how to train your dragons plushes lived and lots more.

DGS is going to be 3 on Boxing Day and I’ve bought him the complete Noah’s Ark set from Vinted. It was a bargain at only £30. I’ve, also, got him a cement mixer lorry, an aeroplane and a potato picking tractor. He chose the tractor out of the magazine. He loves Playmobil, he’s been playing with it for a while now because we saved what we bought for our DSes almost 30yrs ago,

I’d recommend you have a look on Vinted tbh. People sell complete sets, in excellent condition, for such great prices, You can save a fortune.

Playground or swimming pool was DD's first set. Then I think she had a holiday house so they all went together quite well.

So I bought the daycare set this morning and it arrived tonight!
It's absolutely lovely, the level of detail is unbelievable. Not sure about my daughter but I'm definitely a convert!
