Single parents plans this year

Spent the last few Christmases inviting exH over for Christmas day for DC sake. I put my misgivings aside and accommodated ExH seeing DC and for DC to have us both present. I don't want to do it anymore!

For various other reasons my parents don't have the big family Christmas with my siblings anymore and I have no relatives or friends to spend the day with either.

So if I don't invite ExH over it will just be me and DC. ExH will likely be alone as well. I feel like a bad person.

Anyone have any advice, and what are you other single parents doing.

Hate Christmas these days.

Before all my children left home I was a single mum at Xmas for many, many years. We had a ball! Jammies on all day, playing with all the toys Santa brought. Buffet food put out at various points in the day (they all hated traditional Xmas dinner). We honestly had the best time just us.
Your ex is a big boy. If you don’t want to invite him then don’t! I’m sure he can find somewhere else to be.
I hope whatever you decide to do, you have a lovely Xmas.

I don't have any advice OP, but I just want to tell you what a wonderful Mum you are for doing that for your children.
My parents (and step dad) also did this for me, it wasn't every year, but it was more often than not and I cannot tell you what a difference it made to me as a child and an adult to be able to have my whole immediate family under the same roof for Christmas day.
The last time we did it I was in my early 20s, I actually had my own house with now DH. It was a great day, there were about 10 of us at my Mum and Step Dad's house, including my Dad. My Dad died unexpectedly 7 months later, so it was his last Christmas and my last with him and I am so grateful that I have these special memories and I didn't have to choose or worry about the "left out" parent. You're giving your children something so amazing but they won't realise it yet.

Lots don’t, but they alternate Christmas wither ex. So you’d need to discuss and decide who has the DCs this year and who has them next year.

Sounds like OP has them every year probably why she invites her ex round so he doesn’t ask to have them.
