I've just bought a box of five Cadbury Puds at Waitrose - "Dairy milk chocolate balls with a truffle centre, hazelnut pieces and rice crisps." They're half price (£1.75) and I have tested one in order to report and they're excellent :-) I wish I'd got more, but I only went in for milk...

Asda Christmas puds with popping candy
DW declares them a hit (purely for research purposes).
Wee sweeties.

I'm on a restricted diet for medical reasons and there's not one thing I can safely eat as they either contain sugar or raising agents or both . I allowed myself a smartie earlier and I have never tasted anything as disgusting in my life, it was like sugary grease in a crunchy shell. Chocolate is now out even though I would only have it as very occasional treat in small quantities. Please don't link "nice chocolate " as I don't think my dietician would approve.

Smarties now are not the Smarties of childhood (70s kid)
They've a weird texture now.

I have to admit I am a chocolate lover but I completely agree - nothing tastes the same as it did about 7/8 years ago. I tend to stick to dark chocolate now.

Yes! They taste like a rip-off version of Smarties now. I liked them when they were in the boxes at Christmas! Another thing long gone!
