Hello everyone!

Has anyone been on the Polar Express (in particular the Embsay & Bolton Abbey one)? Is it just as magical in the morning? All the afternoon train rides have sold out!

Or has anyone been on another Santa Train they can compare it to? We've done the East Lancs one.. Is the Polar Express better or worse? Worth the money?

We went on the polar express Norfolk a couple of years ago and really enjoyed. We did late afternoon so was dark but there wasn't much to see outside the train anyway on that one.

Thanks for your reply! I hadn't thought of that - can't see out the train if it's dark! I'm so torn as it's so expensive.

We loved the polar express! Went in daylight and got funny looks walking through tunbridge wells in our PJs but it was really good x

Ive done polar express on a different railway, at dusk. To be honest, the magic is all on the train, so while id prefer dusk / evening, id rather morning than not at all 😊

We did the Embsay and Bolton Abbey one last year after dark but I honestly don't think it would have made a difference if we went in the day time. As others have said, everything is on the train, you don't have time to look out of the windows and I don't think there were even any lights or anything to see outside.

We've also done the Santa train at Keighley and Worth Valley multiple times which is a Santa train rather than a Polar Express but the Polar Express was streets ahead of that one.
