Cheapest Christmas presents that have ended up meaning the most

What has been your cheapest yet most favourite present?
Mine is a little ceramic hedgehog that cost my sister 50p from a charity shop- I've had it years and for some reason it's my favourite gift ever!

My Mum knitted me two little yellow and black bees about 25 years ago. They were by far my favourite present for a fairly awful Christmas, and they’re still among my most treasured possessions.

I got a notebook that had prompts in it (for example my favourite memory of you is…) and filled it in over a year for my dad and gave it to my Dad as a gift. He loved it and got emotional which is very unlike him!

A silver necklace, now collectable but not when bought for me at 14, by my parents. I saw it in the window, of a tiny jewellers, near where we lived in London and mentioned it was nice and lol and behold, it arrived Christmas Day. Still wear it, 50 year's later.

A mini whisk. One that has the metal spirals. I use it all the time and was under £5.

A picture from my friends of all of us, a special picture from dh … mil is always good at getting me little pampers bits that I end up using to take a breather. Oh and a friend got me a horseshoe- it was literally just from a yard but I’d always said I really missed having horsey stuff around

My DS the first Christmas since he left home . He bought me a calendar of cute dogs. He said he bought himself one so that we’d know we were both looking at the same picture.

I used to collect novelty erasers when I was young. One Christmas, my dad did a treasure hunt for me and hid a collection he'd bought all over the house throughout the 12 days of Christmas, with cryptic clues for me to find. I still have them all in a tin with the written clues over forty years later - I was so touched he'd gone to so much time and effort.

I have a little crocheted opossum that hangs from my rear view mirror that my niece got me off shein/temu last year. There is a daft story behind it but it makes me smile and I will always take thoughtful over pricey any day.

It isn't a Christmas present but on a birthday, I came down to find on the breakfast table a packet of my cigarettes (it was the 80s, I don't now) and a bag of my favourite mint creams, from my Nan, with a little note. She'd already given me 'money to buy something'.

My grandmother was well over 80 which was Really Old then and she had gone to the shop to get them specially and no present ever has or ever will touch me as much.

Aww, these stories are lovely. When I was younger my Nan arrived on Christmas day morning with clothes she'd knitted for my Timmy and Tiny tear dolls. 30 + plus years later I still have them 🥰
