I have just ordered my Christmas turkey, am I strange?

Currently in France on holiday, we live in Sydney, I just went on to my local butcher’s website to order some meat for when we get home and I saw their Christmas orders were open. I could get home delivery on 23rd December so I ordered my turkey, gravy, stuffing and a joint of roast beef to get it to the point of free delivery. All paid for so don’t have to think about it in December. Am I super organised or truly tragic?

It's normal. That's why they open the bookings early.

I'll do mine later this month once they open their book here.

Good for you!

I personally enjoy the fight in Aldi over the biggest one, so I like to leave it to the 23rd and take a few self defence classes the months leading up.

We do this every year although it’s usually October our butcher opens orders. Nice to get it all ticked off early!

Wow. That's very well organised.
I usually leave it till the last minute, have to get my excitement where I can. 😊

I’ve bought nearly all my Christmas presents including wrapping paper 🤣

Nah I think it's great. I usually order in October or so when the bookings are open. It is a huge weight off my mind and spreads the cost of it all a bit too. The bird is the main expense, my Sainsburys order in the days before Christmas is basically piles of their 15p veg, a box of Lindor, and discount-stacked wine.

You've inspired me to order ours!🎄

You are super organised!

We're going to a restaurant on Christmas Day. We booked that at the start of August and I'd actually tried to book it in July! 😁

Well the butcher laughed and said they are not taking pre orders for Christmas yet. I thought I'd be organized. I did buy all my ds's stocking stuffers though.

I think you are crazy for cooking a roast in an Australian summer.

Someone I worked with actually ordered hers from a farm. She just ordered it and paid but other people would name their turkey and would go visit it. I thought that was weird.
