Charity Christmas cards and things you can buy from an actual shop.

I like buying charity cards and Christmassy things but I hate paying postage.

So what charities have actual shops? I have these so far…..

Cancer Research
Sue Ryder
Acorns (children’s hospices in the Midlands)
Oxfam
British Heart Foundation
Macmillan Cancer Support
Save the Children
Barnardos

And then some wildlife charities that are unlikely to have shops so it’ll have to be buying online like…..

RSPB

and that’s what I’ve got so far. Who else can I add?

I like to buy the Lifeboats cards when we go to the seaside - bought some last week in Whitby and a lovely calendar

Oh I always forget about this kind of thing because I don’t live near the sea. Do they have charity shops or you go to the place where the lifeboats are stored?

You can go in the RNLI shops next to thr lifeboats usually. Our local one is not open very often but I’ve bought cards from there before.

i have also bought RSPB cards from our local rspb reserve before as it used to have a shop, sadly they closed it.

a couple of years ago I charity cards from a local charity shop for s local hospice.

not sure what to get this year tbh as I’ve stopped shopping in my closest charity shops as the things I’m after are really expensive.

My local library sells charity christmas cards in the run up to christmas - do you have a library near you OP? If there is a cause that you would particularly like to support they had loads of different ones at mine, many that I'd never heard of - might be worth checking out.

national trust and English heritage both stock their own cards in their shops if you visit.

I’ve never seen any for sale in my library, is it a new thing?

I've been getting them from the library for the last 25 years. In other towns it is sometimes in a different place eg tourist info or town hall.

In actual shops we have British Heart Foundation, Oxfam, Cancer Research, local hospices.

Last year I got some lovely cards at the dog trust charity shop alongside some super cute doggy Xmas ornaments

Yes the RNLI
they have a lifeboat centre at Whitby we went for afew days and I always like to get some cards there as it’s a lovely charity and the cards are always very nice. They have a little shop, it’s not huge but they have some nice bits, there is also an online shop too.

The postage online is £5, which is more than the cost of the cards.

It would be a good excuse to have a day at the seaside though.

I’m not sure if you order a certain amount whether it’s free? But yes the little shop at Whitby is very nice.

We had a Salvation Army charity shop for a while, not sure if they produce cards.

Cathedrals shops. Can be a bit expensive though.

To be honest even the supermarkets sell charity Christmas cards if you just check on the backs of the packets it will say. I've had them from Asda and Sainsburys before now👍

Every charity shop in my town sells cards. I like the ones from the local hospice shop, because they often feature scenes I know in our area and it's good to support the smaller charities I think.
