My grandfather has his birthday next month and I’d love to get him something meaningful for the garden.
He had a heart attack and, unfortunately, a lot of his garden had to be chopped back because it became too difficult for him to maintain. We now have a large piece of artificial grass in the middle for the kids to play on, with boxed-off areas of soil on either side where his plants used to be.
He used to really enjoy gardening, so I’d love to get him something that could bring a bit of that back without giving him something that requires lots of maintenance.
I’m thinking maybe something for the garden or to go in the garden, but I’m struggling for ideas!
He’s 80, so ideally something that is:
- Low maintenance
- Something he can enjoy from a chair/window if he isn't able to do much gardening
- Perhaps something that gives the garden a bit of colour or wildlife
- Or something sentimental that could make the garden feel special again
I’d really appreciate any ideas, especially if anyone has bought something similar for an older relative after they had to give up gardening.
Budget is around £20–£50, but I’m open to ideas at different prices.
Thank you! ❤️🌿
