I can't quite believe I'm starting a Christmas thread but I'm currently in-between jobs until October so may aswell get it done 😂

This year is the first in 7 years that DB and I will both spend it with our parents, Mum is THRILLED and very excited, so I want to do Christmas stockings for us all, but I need ideas! I feel like everyone gets chocolate or sweets, socks, a couple of gifts and something silly, but I am in fact clueless

Dad (67) loves whisky, gin, history (quirky!) and is a foodie
Mum (70) loves sewing, crochet, baking
DB (35) Loves Dr Who, Music, gigs, geeky shit 😂
DSIL (30) loves candles, smellies, tattoos (has many and loves stories behind them), feminism hugely important to her...and likes salted liquorice so cant be trusted 😏

Also, for Mum and Dad, do I get stockings with M and D or their actual initials?!

You have some many possibilities....
Mini booze bottles
Boozy chocs
Cookie cutters
Herbs and spices mixes
Wool, thread or whatever string like thing or needles
Lip balms
Mini hand creams
Candle melts or mini candles
Wick trimmers
Mini jams or preserves
Teaspoons with initials
Some cozy winter gloves
Gingerbread men
Nail varnish
Postcard style recipes
Hot sauces or marinades
Nice pen and note books
Nostalgic keychain or thumbprint
Artisan fudge
Nice shortbread
Gift cards

You get the idea....it all comes down to budget and how big the stockings are. Definitely mum and dad or granny and Gramps rather then first names.

I always like Waterstones for some little opening type pressies - they have a great gift section x

Make sure someone is doing you a stocking so you're not left out on Christmas morning!

Lakrids for SIL liquorice

M&S is good for cocktail cans, or fevertree crackers with a spirit and a mixer

If your town has a classic old fashioned sewing shop they are great for stocking fillers of lovely threads/scissors/fabric bundles/ribbons/yarn/pins

Tickets can be a nice stocking filler. Doesn't have to be to anything too expensive, a local music gig or comedy night

I personally would prefer the initial of my name than "M" for mum. DH's name actually starts with M so I would assume that was his stocking!

Definitely this!
