You won’t get to shop with her to establish taste. I was thinking of Angel with Alien for her younger sister (13) but feel like maybe the names might be misinterpreted as a verdict?

What perfume does your 15 year old wear?

Mine likes Floral Street ones. They do hangbag sized too

A few people have asked questions :

  1. They aren’t my kids and they don’t live locally so I can’t just take them to Boots
  2. A shopping trip has been done before, the 13yo was difficult enough for me not to be enthusiastic to repeat it. It’s easier just to get it done
  3. i try and get my Christmas shopping done early, I’m nearly finished in fact
  4. Getting my first scent when I was 15 was a huge treat to me

I’m considering those gift sets with all the minis now

I would get them something else entirely if they are not your kids.

I wouldn’t buy anyone fragrance without knowing exactly which ones they already use and / or like. Taste in fragrance is personal, so there’s high risk of it never being used.

Would buy a voucher for them to choose one, or something else

Have a look at Noted Aromas. They are fantastic copies at a fraction of the price, they usually do deals on 3x100ml bottles

forgivingfiggy · 21/07/2026 12:07

I love Alien. But other options which are grown up - Chanel Chance or Miss Dior

Seagulldancing · 21/07/2026 12:12

Its an expensive thing to get wrong. When DD was that age I got loads of tiny (5 or 10ml) samples and put them in her advert calendar. She loved a few and I got her a full bottle next Christmas.
Im a person who perfume alters on, smells beautiful on others, like cat pee on me. So I went safe.

Tina46 · 21/07/2026 12:15

I would say one of the Sol de Janeiro perfumes.

Well, if you don't spend much time with them, then definitely buy a discovery set and a voucher. Try Notino- they do a great variety of discovery sets at around 6 or 7 quid each and you can team it with a Notino gift voucher. it's all online but they still get that thrill of unwrapping the cellophane off their first grown up perfume.

oohgoodcupofteanicky · 21/07/2026 17:50

Marc Jacobs - Daisy (the dot one)

BeUniqueDreamer · 21/07/2026 17:53

DNKY Be Delicious definitely. Green bottle is better but the one in the red will also go down well.

Davros · 21/07/2026 17:58

When I was a teenager a cool friend of my parents gave me a bottle of Chanel No 5. Loved it! No gimmicks. I’ve no idea how much it costs now

@Justdontwanttodothisnomore

i was looking at the variations of Gucci Flora BUT it’s quite pricey whereas I can get the ones I mentioned as a gift set

Might be a good option.

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 21/07/2026 18:51

My teens like the pink Prada one (paradox?), and YSL libre.

MsSquiz · 21/07/2026 19:15

I honestly wouldn’t buy someone a perfume unless I knew it was one they like and wear.

I love Alien and Angel on other people but don’t like how they smell on me.

a scent is a very personal thing, so you might think they smell hideous, but the recipient could love it

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 21/07/2026 19:20

Lots to think about here, thanks all

I would be really surprised at 13 and 15 if they hadn't already had/used perfume and knew what they liked, my daughter was definitely interested at the start of secondary school. I've never seen getting a bottle as a big event, however getting a bottle of my favourite scent is a real treat.
At these ages I wouldn't go crazy - it will more than likely be spayed all over uniform every day and run out quickly.
Popular here are the Ariana Grande perfumes, Miss Dior and Lancome La vie est belle.
However dupes really can be amazing - the M&S range are very good, as are next.

MissElizabethGrayling · 22/07/2026 23:14

My 15yo dd likes Billie Eillish the one that is a gold half face and boobs. And Marc Jacob’s Daisy.

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePleaseBarista · 22/07/2026 23:18

DD 15 has been a fan of body sprays and perfumes for some time. Her current favourites are:
Miss Dior - Dior
Daisy - Marc Jacob’s
Sol de janario 59
Wild bluebell - Jo Malone

TwilightSkies · 26/07/2026 10:09

Kayali isn’t a particularly new brand. It’s been around for a few years. Super popular with teens/early 20s.

TwinklyRoseTurtle · 26/07/2026 10:11

My teen likes:
Miss Dior
The kayali perfumes- mainly the vanilla one

CoffeeBeansGalore · 26/07/2026 11:20

Ted Baker Violet & Bergamot
Jimmy Choo Flash
Ghost Daydream

AwwShucksOhWell · 26/07/2026 11:26

When I was working in perfumery, all teen girls in that age range wanted either Miss Dior/Cherie or Coco Mademoiselle.

I think it was mostly about brand cache, but they are in fairness all very nice fragrances. They aren't cheap, but in teens, I found fancy gift wrap in branded paper and a sample was better than a gift set anyway.
