Hi all,

Please help me find the softest glow traditional LED lights available!
I got Lights4Christmas pickwicks last year and find the blue a little electric looking, and all of them generally a little bright.

I have seen Noma pickwick and Canterbury bells, do they look more turquoise & softer colours ? I want red, pink, green, Amber and turquoise. I have also spotted a brand called FERN, so a but unsure which ones are best?!

Thank you!

We had a thread on this very subject a couple of years ago.

I'll have a furtle in Advanced Search.

One tip which I had forgotten was to sharpiecolour the more garish bulbs in your string to tone down harshness. So say you want amber but that one is a bit orange, try a yellow or orange sharpie and see.

Bloody hell you're organised!

I bought lights4fun retro lights last year did the whole sharpie thing and it didn't work, the LEDs were just too bright. I have preordered some Noma traditional lights instead which are supposed to be softer. Gemini has given me a tip of using white tack on rhe ends, and you'll not see it if pickwick/bell shaped. Dh thinks I am obsessed as every year they just don't look right! I'm not interested in buying Filament, too energy consuming and dangerous.

Haha, honestly I'm not, just the lights because they put the price up nearer the time, and I didn't want to pay a small fortune. There was just one site that had them for preorder, all of the rest were out of stock (I suspect conveniently until they double the price in the Autumn)! I am just hoping the Noma will be perfect without any adjustments, or I give up. So sick of the electric blues.

Thank you! I am obsessed with a shade of turquoise blue I have in my head, quite honestly I don't even know if it exists 😂

That colour is probs in the Pifco nursery rhyme lights with the olive bulbs.
