We were with family on Christmas Day for dinner which was fab but we love cold turkey so i cooked our own Christmas dinner last night & i've just had my favourite sandwich of the year - super fresh white bread (frozen in advance & defrosted last night), kerrygold butter, turkey breast, homemade sage & onion stuffing & homemade cranberry sauce - deeeeelicious :-)

I will have another sandwich for dinner later with all the leftover veg & gravy & turkey in it. But the first one has to be simple.

What do you put in yours?

Had ours yesterday. White bread, proper butter, horseradish on one slice, mayo on the other, roast beef and onion with a pack of walkers cheese and onion. Was delicious. I could have it everyday!

I buy a flatbread and do like a leftover pizza thing with Brie on it. There’s gammon left so that’ll go on along with stuffing, a cranberry sauce base and some rocket and red onion lobbed on top. I’ll mix a bit of the leftover gravy with mayo and a touch of mustard and lemon juice for a dipping pot.

Im on a very morning shift at work currently so ive got a lot of time to think about it 🤣

Sandwich with “moist maker”?

Youmightnotliketheanswer · 27/12/2025 13:37

Yesterday, roast pork, Stuffing, apple sauce, crackling in an oven bottom breadcake. Dc2 said I'd surpassed myself in the sandwich department. 🤣

We are not so much into sandwiches (apart from DH) so had two days of roast.

Those sandwiches sound delicious though, did you toast it? Anymore filling ideas; would like to get the kids into it as so much easier for a quick meal.

I had mine for lunch today!
Turkey and stuffing and brown sauce on the side!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/12/2025 17:27

I had an open sandwich yesterday with camembert, turkey, bread sauce and cranberry sauce. It was lovely.

ZenZazie · 27/12/2025 17:31

Yesterday I had a panini with mayo, cranberry sauce, turkey, pork, cranberry and fennel stuffing roast carrots and I soaked some roast potatoes in gravy and popped them in too. It was lovely

Ooh I’m having mine later. I just need to refrain from eating for a short while (a significant festive challenge) so I can do it justice.

It’ll be leftover slow roast chicken with herb stuffing on buttered white sliced pan. Still considering what to add as my moist maker🤔

No we never gave turkey but just had leftovers. Gently fried filet and stuffing microwaved Dauphinoise cranberry and creamed parsnips

Dauphinoise is aways better reheated

I bought turkey gravy flavour mayonnaise reduced from M&S after last Christmas and have been using in hot turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches in oven bottom muffins. Yum.
