It’s finally Christmas Day.

I am up but back in bed with a coffee. Everyone else is sleeping (teenagers), Santa has been, gifts are out, lights and heating are on. Just listening to the silence, awaiting what the day will bring.

I am up and watching tv downstairs with a drink and some biscuits. My 3 year old and 1 year old are still snoring away but I couldn’t resist spending a bit of quiet time with all the lights before all the excitement begins.

I'm up and I've lit candles, put the heating and the tree lights on and prepped the wood burner for lighting when DD gets up so we can open our gifts by the fire.

I've taken a few bits out of the fridge ready for cooking. The cat has got the zoomies...

Merry Christmas! Mine are still sleeping (eldest is almost 5 so the excitement is very real this year). He absolutely loved leaving the carrots, cookie and milk out last night!

I’m feeling tired - didn’t sleep great last night as putting the lamb in the oven to slow cook has been on my mind!

Very much looking forward to my cup of tea soon - heating is coming on and I’m finally feeling festive.

I was up at 5am as usual. Put the heating and lights on. Came back to bed at with a coffee at 6:30am as I heard dp stirring. Just finishing coffee before we go downstairs and open our gifts. Dc are 20 and 25 so will probably be awake about 9am which will be when I'll make sausage baps for us all.

I've been up for an hour, but currently in bed with a cuppa. Not hosting, but i need to get my bum in the shower and drive over to my parents house.

Merry Christmas everyone!🎄 DH and DDog both snoring. DD still sound asleep too. DS18 didn’t come home last night after being at the pub and has told me via text to do presents without him 🫠 All my worrying about DD’s pile being bigger than his for nothing - bloody teenagers! We forgot to cook the gammon yesterday so will go and get the oven on now. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Two year old DD was up at 6 as usual. Stockings have been opened. Just enjoying breakfast and then DD can play with her stocking toys until family arrive at 9 and we open the tree presents. Have a good Christmas everyone.

I’m in bed waiting for the elderly grandparents to wake up, but have woken up the kids who are both a bit poorly and had calpol at bedtime last night. They are watching a few bits on their iPads and look cosy and quite snuffly. Husband still asleep so will wake him up soon too.

Hoping there are enough presents as we’ve got fewer things to unwrap than usual. Both the kids said they wanted one really big gift each, so it’s that and a whole load of tiny ones (hair stuff, lip balm etc). Stocking have a few little surprises and last year those were their favourites anyway!

Also the only one up. Got up early to have a peaceful coffee before the busy day starts. DC are 13 and 16, and I'll be getting them up shortly.

Santa has been and its looking great with the tree lights twinkling. The turkey went in its salt bath yesterday so I'm ready to go.

I'm up with a cup of coffee and eldest is up. Still waiting for OH and ds2 lol 😆 MIL was meant to be popping over this afternoon, however has had a stomach bug all night. So will meet up another day when she's better. We had our Christmas dinner yesterday, so it will be a lovely slow, relaxing day of present opening, pizzas and party food 🙂 Saw my mum and her partner the other day. Perfect 😁☕️🎁

Merry Christmas. I got up at 8 and switched on all the lights, had a coffee and waiting for teen dc 15 to wake up but we were in bed well after 1am so theres absolutely no rush to get him up. I'm super relaxed and enjoying the peace and quiet 😂

Back to report boys loved their stockings. I’m so relieved!!! Now breakfast

Happy Christmas everybody! Glorious weather here. Coffee and stockings so far for dp and I, ds isn’t awake yet. Croissants, coffee and juice to come, off to the nursing home to visit Granny then cooking at home. Have the best day you can manage, with peace and goodwill to all 🎄

We’ve just had lovely poached eggs on sourdough toast, opened some presents and are getting ready to walk to our Christmas morning Church service. DH is staying behind to stuff the turkey and get that in the oven at noon and tidy up. He’s meeting us at the pub at 12.30. We're all a bit tired as didn’t go to bed until 1am! I can feel a post dinner snooze coming on around 5pm! Oh and I forgot to get the streaky bacon out of the freezer for the pigs in blankets!
