"There's four cat food pouches left. We don't need any more, do we?"

We have three cats.🙄

That would annoy me

UxmalFan · 24/12/2025 16:58

ONE licky-lix between THREE cats at CHRISTMAS?
The man is deranged.

I have one cat but I would be terrified in this situation. He is obsessed with food and probs would eat me if there is no food available

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 24/12/2025 15:10

No worries. They can eat him. I’m sure they could make him last a few days

🤣🤣

BaronessBomburst · 24/12/2025 17:19

I remember when DM feed the cat sprouts and mashed potato with gravy. It was around 1985 but the memory lingers .......

Mmmcheese89 · 24/12/2025 17:21

Jeez. I've only had my kittens 2 weeks (first cats in nearly 2 decades) and I know that's not acceptable. Took in a £100 pets at home delivery last Friday to see us well into the new year.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 24/12/2025 17:25

'Oh, that's not a problem dear, I'm sure they will make do with your share of the Turkey'.

This has just reminded me! I read an interview with a paramedic a while ago, and he said that when dog owners die at home alone, the dog will stay with them for so long, and only resort to, erm, feeding themselves 😬 once they are absolutely starving.

Cats on the other hand will apparently dig right in 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So not sure they would share all that nicely or make the DH last.

LBFseBrom · 24/12/2025 17:27

Order some online now, from the Co-op. They'll deliver quickly. Amazon fresh might do the same. A lot of shops are open tomorrow too.

I expect your cats would like some turkey.

pinneddownbytabbies · 24/12/2025 17:30

@LBFseBrom Thanks, crisis has been averted and they will not have to resort to surviving on human food...

I was thinking good thoughts about making them all a plate of turkey and rice.

And I was thinking very very sour thoughts about your DH who really needs to pull his fucking weight a bit.

He's actually quite well-trained normally, so don't think too badly of him. 🙂

Set up a subscribe and save on Amazon so they are delivered every month.

Or avoid giving Amazon your money

chickenfucker · 24/12/2025 18:19

I've just done the same. We have two cats. We've got loads of biscuits and some smoked salmon and the garage will be open tomorrow, right 😬

I would need an entire room for cat food if we had it delivered monthly, or at least a pantry or big cupboard. I was thinking of setting up a weekly subscription! It's about 42 sachets a week for two cats, and my two are dinky. Loads of places do it, not just Amazon. I used to just get it in the Tesco order but now they have renal food.

NewGoldFox · 24/12/2025 18:25

Your username was a good hint to the severity of the situation!

Sam9769 · 24/12/2025 18:30

I just read your post to my husband and he said unprompted
"See,I'm not the only one!"
Don't give them turkey because it is toxic to them.
I gave one of my cats turkey one year and we ended up in the vets and received clear advice not to give him turkey. It's not like chicken apparently!

Happy Christmas to you and the felines!

No, it isn't.

I wouldn't give them the sausagemeat stuffing or one that had a couple of onions shoved up its arse, but turkey is fine.

cheesychipsontheoche · 24/12/2025 18:40

Mines been trying to eat a baguette all day, I’ve had to chop her a bit off and hide the rest .

now she doesn’t want it, of course

Catwoman8 · 24/12/2025 18:46

I changed my christmas order to partly accommodate our cats...🤣 I had originally placed a turkey in the christmas shop but decided to change it to a chicken instead with all the trimmings.

NotSorry · 24/12/2025 18:50

2 dogs here, just opened a 12kg bag of kibble, 2 spare bags in the store cupboard, I'd be having sweats too if I was down to the last bit of pet food 😮

It will be fine, they will just find and steal the turkey .......
