"There's four cat food pouches left. We don't need any more, do we?"

We have three cats.🙄

BearSoFair · 24/12/2025 15:38

We only have 2 cats but I'd be sweating if we ever got down to the last box being opened without having stocked up!

Mostly jealous of how your three will share a chair OP, our girls won't even willingly be in the same room 😔

Hattyinaflurry · 24/12/2025 15:39

I would suggest giving them turkey, but my friend did that and then had a cat that would only eat roast turkey. She eventually got him to accept roasted chicken thighs instead, but it took a while. But he'd never look at cat food again.

BorneBackCeaselesslyIntoThePas · 24/12/2025 15:44

At Christmas I cook up the giblets and share them out as a treat”

we should be so lucky, our mistress of the house refuses to eat anything that doesn’t come out of a packet (and we have tried putting freshly cooked chicken in the packet, but Miss Picky knows better

Happyjoe · 24/12/2025 15:45

On behalf of the kitties, he's sacked!!
Hope he found some OP!

I would start to panic at less than 4 boxes! :)

Spot on lol

topcat2014 · 24/12/2025 15:49

Petrol stations?

Iheartmysmart · 24/12/2025 16:00

My kitten will only eat one particular brand and flavour of raw food. The minimum order from the manufacturer is 10kg which won’t fit in my freezer so I buy it from a small local shop. Imagine my horror a couple of weeks ago when i popped in at the weekend to restock and they’d run out!

I ended up buying fresh steak for her, dicing it into tiny pieces and feeding her by hand. Fortunately the shop had a delivery on the Friday and they put some by for me but bloody hell that was a stressful few days.

Your husband must have nerves of steel to get down to so few pouches.

UnemployedNotRetired · 24/12/2025 16:08

Let them eat turkey.
HIS turkey.

Nessiesfoodprovider · 24/12/2025 16:15

I'm a dog home but we don't let the big 15kg sack of food get much more than half empty before we buy the next one. It's not like running out of human food where you can order food to be delivered less than an hour later. Your cats' servant husband needs to work out how much food etc the cats get through and be on top of things.

TheHillIsMine · 24/12/2025 16:15

<looks at the three x 40 sachets boxes and contemplates the drawer that's meant to be for pans but is full of cat food. Oh and the cupboard that's meant to be for crockery and roasting dishes but is full of cat treats >. No shame or sorrow.

Somethingneedstochange78 · 24/12/2025 16:15

I’ve got this picture of a family tucking into their Christmas dinner and 4 cats in a row watching wondering where their grub is.😂😂😂

Oh they like giblets all right, but the digestive system of one of them doesn't. I shan't elaborate.

Your cat eats better than my husband... (don't get me wrong, rightly so...). 😻

catscatscurrantscurrants · 24/12/2025 16:22

I have one cat. He has his own kitchen cupboard for food and treats, and it's always kept well-stocked. My life would not be worth tuppence otherwise.

pinneddownbytabbies · 24/12/2025 16:25

One of mine likes pork pie.

We still occasionally refer to the 'Pork Pie Incident'.😁

Beautiful kitties! Your DH is lucky not to have that cloud of black retribution descend upon him...

My normally irreproachable tiny house panther smelt the turkey entering the house yesterday, and has been just fiendish ever since... in 'small acts of destruction to get attention' mode... she can't understand why we're not having it Now...

Iheartmysmart · 24/12/2025 16:31

@Gribouille She was found abandoned at about 6-8 weeks old suffering from a nasty bout of cat flu so I feel I owe it to her to give her the best life possible. She’s repaying that by being incredibly fussy, waking me up at 3am and trashing my sofa. I wouldn’t be without her though.

DH has just announced...
pointythings · 24/12/2025 16:34

I'm glad it all got sorted. I too have 5 cats - I have 40 tins of Applaws (for the two fussy ones), 24 pouches of Whiskas (for the two dustbins) and fresh chicken and frozen fish to poach for the one super ultra fussy one who must have what he wants because he will not eat anything else and must not lose any weigh.

Also 2 two kilo bags of dry food and many Dreamies. Cat tax of one of mine attached.

No worries. They can eat him. I’m sure they could make him last a few days

This!

(Have you seen the film, ‘Alive’?)

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 24/12/2025 15:14

Here’s three of them!

Your tortie looks like my mum's cat who is long since gone. 🥺♥️ Beautiful kitties. 😊

mondaytosunday · 24/12/2025 16:39

we always have kibble too and as I leave my two large Maine Coons for a couple nights about once a month they would have coped on that. Tinned tuna at a pinch. However I agree, my goal is to not have to set foot in a shop for the next four days at least, and I have repeatedly asked ‘do I need to add anything to the order’ which arrived this morning. I think I’ve covered it all, and pet food a priority! But if my DD (who is doing the cooking tomorrow) suddenly announced she was missing X vital ingredient I would not be pleased.

Summerhillsquare · 24/12/2025 16:43

pinneddownbytabbies · 24/12/2025 15:30

Update - I can report that DH has returned already with not only cat food pouches and lik-e-lix, but Dreamies and chewy sticks as well.

And there was me thinking the cats would have to make do with turkey, chestnut stuffing, pigs in blankets, gravy, sprouts (actually no, been there before, never again), giblets, gammon, prawns, chicken goujons, pork pie and Ardennes pate.

All's well that ends well.

Your tabbies must be tubby 😂

The pork pie-lover is. 😂One is getting on in years and we have trouble keeping enough weight on her; she eats like a horse but it doesn't 'settle'. The other one loves the great outdoors and is as as fit as a flea.
