No idea

I think it varies from shop to shop and how busy they are.

PaperMachePanda · 24/12/2025 12:21

About 3:30 where I am.

hollyandribbon · 24/12/2025 12:27

Having just been into an M&S, there’s already a few reductions on salmon and dips and things like that but not on any of the big items like turkeys or any of the pre-prepped veg.

Ours Is usually around 3ish.

Nothungrycat · 24/12/2025 12:30

My local foodhall was reducing non-Christmas items from mid-morning. Which is great - I've just picked up all the ingredients for a non-Christmassy Christmas Eve meal!

JustMyView13 · 24/12/2025 12:34

Went for opening at 7am. They had LOADS of reduced ready meals & normal food out already. But they had absolutely no picky bits for sale. Just enough to pull together a ‘pre prepared’ roast dinner.
Not sure if they’ve cottoned on maybe?

TheTowerAtMidnight · 24/12/2025 12:45

You're probably too late. I was there shortly before 9am and there were loads of yellow stickers.

LittlePetitePsychopath · 24/12/2025 12:46

They’ve got a deal with food bans for this year, so it won’t hit the crazy prices of years gone by.

They did first reductions for opening, second round at 11am, I think finals are due for around 3 and then surplus stock is being collected.

Whathappend · 24/12/2025 13:02

I'll head down around 3ish then, see what there is.

Anything I pick up will be a bonus and non essential.

Thanks all

I was there between 3pm and 3.45pm. Hardly anything reduced.

The only things that were reduced were 2 pots of hummus and a salmon terrine @Salmongate After your thread, I was sorely tempted to buy at £8.50!

Ah well, no loss.

They vary it to outwit the yellow sticker vultures.

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 24/12/2025 17:20

The one near me had already reduced a load of stuff when I got there at about 9.30 this morning.

Moaning5 · 24/12/2025 17:23

There was practically nothing in mine even at 4 - rubbish !

berlinbaby2025 · 24/12/2025 17:30

It’s usually about two hours before the closing time, which varies from store to store.

Looking forward to the half price reductions on Saturday.

SharpAzurePoster · 24/12/2025 21:15

I think it also depends if the store is closed for one or two days. If shut Boxing Day then they are more likely to have stuff to sell off today.
