6.15am Christmas Eve and I have returned from the prawn and oyster run. There was about 30 people outside the seafood shop for their 5am opening but we got in and out fast.

The aircond man serviced the units last week. The pool man has been and the pool is sparkling. All Christmas food locked and loaded in the fridge. Have 2 dozen Bowen mangoes for Christmas Day daiquiris.

I’m feeling smug this year. I do have to brave the supermarket today as my son used up an essential ingredient but on the whole, it’s all good.

Not toey at all! Totally relaxed. First Christmas at home in about 6 years and I am going to enjoy it. DH will do the cooking and I’ll do the washing up. Kids are old enough to manage their presents without demands for putting together stuff, battery insertions or clamshell package opening. It’s gonna be fun!

And for an added bonus, today is general rubbish plus recycling bin day. So I will have lovely empty bins tomorrow.

This talk of pools and air con at Christmas is so foreign and alien to me! I can’t imagine it!

I will never grow tired of the fact the internet has opened up the world, would have been unbelievable in my youth.

Our family will be in Europe for Christmas 2026 and I am so excited about mulled wine, hot chocolates, Christmas markets and maybe even snow! The idea of been snuggled up inside with a fire sounds so unbelievably exciting.

I’m not in Australia but absolutely love hearing about Xmas day over there! Sounds amazing in the sun!! Is a bbq a typical Aussie Xmas dinner? I love a bbq!

We’re over in Melbourne visiting DD. Couldn’t believe how easy it was to go to the supermarket yesterday!!
