Just a grouch

So, son and his partner are here for Christmas. Today they decided to cook lunch or what I thought was for us all … well myself his dad and his sister Commandeered the kitchen for ages we foolishly thought we were being served a feast.
nope nothing they cooked lunch just for themselves and disappeared to his room not a word …wonder what they would say if i only cooked Christmas dinner for me his dad and sister left them out?

It does sound selfish but had they given you any clue that they'd be cooking for you too? I'd probably say something along the lines of 'where's ours then?'.

Erm if they were using my ingredients and things I'd ordered for the whole family I'd be telling them they need to contribute either via cooking for everyone or monetarily or they can go and buy their own food.

Hah !!! they took an inordinate amount of time and cooked up all the bacon to make bacon and cranberry sarnies!! All ingredients straight from our fridge or store cupboard. I was too flabbergasted to say anything to be honest. Im just silently fizzing about that and the fact that they are spending zero time outside my sons room! Just come out to eat or use loo! To add insult to injury I will have to go get more bacon tomorrow morning as they used it ALL!

Sod that. Tell your son he's off to the shop today to buy more bacon & replace the cranberry sauce that you'd bought for Christmas dinner. Selfish gits.

I agree, he used it he buys more. That's incredibly selfish behaviour on his part and I'm sure you have enough to do tomorrow.
