New job? Who will be minding your 3 year old?

Could you have an Xmas celebration another day? 2 years ago my youngest was born via c section on the 22nd. I'd had pregnancy complications and didnt know if wed be home for Xmas. Our plan was to let daughter have her santa presents with dad but to tell her we would have a 2nd xmas when mummy was home. At 3 you can always do xmas another day too. I work in care so know the guilt of missing special occasions

What will you be doing Christmas day? Ideally you'd get up early for presents and ou'd be invited somewhere with dinner in the evening so you'd tick the big boxes for the day.

If not and it bothers you can you do the whole thing another day?

The 3yo is probably most bothered with new gifts and playing with you over the next few days.

Move the day. The 26th is now christmas day.

At 3 they really aren't going to know or care.

A 3 year old won’t care when you do Christmas…do it on your next day off after christmas

Some mummy's just have jobs that mean they can't be home all of Christmas. You might feel guilty but your 3 year old gives zero shits. I just do gifts in a morning when on lates or stay up after nights or if on earlies they do some gifts in the morning and then some gifts when I'm home. Fancy roast dinner is saved for the nearest none working day.
It's just how it is for an awful lot of us but if it wasn't for us poorly people wouldn't get looked after, people who need help wouldn't be helped, things that need to be moved or sold wouldn't be and all the other multiple valuable jobs that entail non convenient hours.
Kids adapt this bothers you far more than it bothers them x
