Christmas Eve Food Shopping

I am just sorting out my final plans for the Christmas food and wondered how many of you go shopping on Christmas Eve. I am not sure whether to wait to get things like the bread, fresh fruit etc until then, or is it absolute carnage? Is the 23rd better? If you do go on the 24th, what time do you go?

I generally go on the 23rd, this year though we are going to my mother in laws. May need to pop out to the shop on the 24th so we will see.But generally there are more bargains on the 24th but less selection

Work in retail. Typically tomorrow is the busiest day. Christmas Eve varies usually busy first thing then quietens off but (and can't speak for all) but we are unlikely to get much (if any) delivery 23rd into 24th so it will be no fresher if you shop tomorrow or Christmas Eve
